Article Mod for phpLD 3.1.0

This is one I'm really excited about. I've been wanting this for a long time.

    • uses the Fcked Editor allowing for full editing capabilities including images and smilies, as well as the ability to simply cut and paste from other web pages
    • If categories exist for a given category there will be a categories section listed after the links section
    • You can add articles to any existing category
    • At this time articles can only be added by the admin, but more is planned
Here are a few examples of articles:

    http://www.articlescript.org/new-demo/article.php?id=14
    http://www.articlescript.org/new-demo/article.php?id=13
    http://www.articlescript.org/new-demo/article.php?id=15

You can download the article mod in the the supporters forum (so you must be a member). This mod will be incorporated into the next version of phpLD, so everyone will eventually have access to the mod, but initially it is available only for supporters forum members.

If you have any questions or comments, you can also visit the release thread here:
    http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9083

Here is the add article screen in admin:

    That looks really exciting David!

Just to make sure I understand completely: basically, the mod allows you to add a listing to a page in your directory, just as you would add a normal listing. But the "details page" of the listing is actually an article --> is that an accurate description of the mod?

Also, do the articles have to come after the regular directory listings, or can you have a "featured article" like a "featured link"?

One more thing: when you do a search on your directory, will the mod search the full articles as well?

The articles appear as a section in admin after the links.
    Here...
    http://www.articlescript.org/new-demo/index.php?c=1
...you can see the link appears first followed by the list of articles.
There is plenty of room for making template changes and additional modifications to this mod.
It is still a "baby" but quite powerful already.

Not at this point, though that sounds like something worth investigating.

One more suggestion might be a mod rewrite on the urls.

another idea : sell sponsored articles for a particular category (hosted marketing pages). Payment system is already in place.

And we really need a built-in customizable contact form with captcha.

Yes, I plan to use this on phpLD itself to make a template section and a knowledge base. I love the way you can just grab a whole webpage and just paste it and done! :D

Yes, I've been using a wordpress setup for that, but having it integrated in one platform is obviously a definite plus.

Sorry, yes I read it. What I wanted to tell you is we will be adding a frontend submit form which I think could utilize the payment system, but I would say we have a little more work to do. Right now we are working on mod rewrite. That should be done shortly.
