Wordpress theme won't install

I am trying to install a wordpress theme into the wp-content/themes folder, only my FTP program won't let it go through...this is the second FTP program I have tried, and failed with both. Any suggestions? When I log into Wordpress, it says the style sheet is not available, and I can't use the theme...how can I get the theme to upload?

try uploading it via the FTP client inside Internet Explorer or try uploading via WinSCP FTP. Possibly even try the web-based version if you're using cPanel.

Well it should be, you should be testing for it since so many people still use it.

The dreamweaver one sucks, I would never use that.

    try WS_FTP or something then...

I've heard filezilla is a good windows FTP client, personally I use gedit in Ubuntu. Are you sure you've copied everything over? If you only get that message when you login, could that mean that only the admin CSS is missing, or is your frontpage screwed up as well?

got it using smartftp...dreamweaver had locked a file as read only, and I had to go into my server and rechange the permissions...now that that is done, I was able to upload it...I get virus' with IE...although I might go back to it once I go Vista...I'm a firefox junky as it is.

Yes, so does everyone else. I have it on my computer, but I use Firefox all the time. I only use IE for testing....that's the only reason any webmaster should have it ;)

What kind of error is it getting? Is the template not matching up with the correct version of WP?

Did you have it as folder with in a folder in the themes section??
    public_html/wp-content/themes/xxx/xxx

    If so, it should be
    public_html/wp-content/themes/xxx

I dunno if it is a problem which specifically arises with 2.0.6 though...
