I am just putting together some new pages for 2007 and I am adding adsense to the site.
My question is am I allowed to place links and text above the google ads that is the same color scheme as the ads?

    For an example see: http://www.blackpool-illuminations.net

Any ideas or should I email google?

    Thanks

I cannot be sure 100% but I guess it's ok. But I recommend that you email them. :)

Looks ok for me.....I just wondering if Google is still promoting ad blending in these days.

The way you do it does look a lot like google ads do and this is certainly close to 'misleading visitors', so I'd definitely ask google.

In my eyes, you won't earn anything on having that link above the adds. The visitors will think its an add to, and instead of clicking an add, they might click on your link. That means that you will loose potential money. So make it adds only instead.

Despite what I said earlier, I agree. Also, having ads on the left never did me any good. They are usually ignored.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I will email google to check just in case as I wouldn't want to get banned.

kalle437: I am not bothered earning money from google for the top ad as I own the holiday flats :) So hopefully it will just give me a bit of extra traffic.

    Thanks to all.

Didn't think of it that way :)

Well, good luck! Hope you ask google before you bring traffic to the site.
