(((I have contributed to a wide variety of topics this week, if you assume I'm "obsessed with reputation", you are quite wrong.))) Are you willing to talk about this in public? Group A (for example): This group 'really earned'', or intends to 'really earn' their forum reputation. They never once "ask for green" when giving something away, or when giving green and leaving a comment. Every time they receive rep, it is a true compliment because they did not ask for it. Group C Has a balanced history, and sometimes openly asks for green rep. Group F Tends to have a 'monster load' of green boxes (or plans to), and most (or many) of them were received because they either asked for it, or were 'really focused on getting it'. Which group are you in, or if you're new, what is your plan? Why? If someone (with semi-decent self-respect), is deciding between Group 'A or B', which do you suggest they choose? Why? Thanks
I really don't give a d** If they ask I may remember to give Green. Even for ones who don't ask, if they gave some good advise, I give them green. It is show that I am happy with their help. Thanks
Why is this so important to you anyway. I don't really care about rep and give it out to anyone that asks. I think iTrader reputation is way more important.
First off rep is not the be all and end all. It's a nice to have. I'm from Group A. Think about it if you are giving good advice, people will green rep you. If your begging for rep than your advice may (stress may) be second rate. As for selling stuff, if you product/service is great why wouldn't someone green rep you? Begging for it isn't the way. I believe rep should be given when good comments, or services or products are given. Green rep is like candy, don't beg about it little boys and girls, you'll get some when your good . Just some of my thoughts. Skinny
1) I'm just curious about other members 'accepted standards'. I tried to point that out from the start. 2) "Are you willing to talk about this in public?" makes an interesting thread title for 'General Chat', doesn't it? You are correct, Itrader is much more important.
Im A. I believe the rating system is like pr, it should not be spammed with people asking for green. I give green because they deserve it. Thats it. You go a good job, you get a green. Simple honest system.
I'm was just curious about other members 'accepted standards', now I've pretty much learned enough. A is best C is average F is Fail I'm mostly A, and have only twice, "asked for green", so most of mine is earned.
