I'm well aware of trend. I was probably the 'whitest' kid in my high school, and I'm not even 100% white...by far. The question is: Do you find this to be a positive thing, just for it's own sake? http://www.fedstats.gov/qf/ 'Communities' may best be the keyword. There's still quite few white people in every state, and while I didn't have many white kids at my high school, there were/are many in the community. I tend to believe a trend of quick immigration spawns 'white flight'. That's my personal opinion. On a side note, immigration is slowly the fixure of this phenomena. And I can see why the left likes it...because congressionally it's been a huge benefactor to them....as left philosophies rule most of latin america (and that's where a great deal of their future constituents come from). Not that the left philosophies helped them very much there . You'll find that the cities with the highest levels of 'minorities' (except the south) and the highest union levels are the most left. The rest of the state usually lean right. Although with passing generations minorities tend to be more split among their votes. Thus the emphasis to continue the flow of the immigration...really it helps both the left in right in terms of their power and constituency influence.
He was actually a liberal republican. which is why its funny when AC compares everyone to Nixon. Nixon was a big government republican. Bush is kinda in this line, but the party itself has more of a small party belief system. Which is why Bush finds himself losing support from his "base" - cuz he thinks throwing money around is the way to fix domestic problems.

Why I wouldn't vote for neither. My conservative friends feel the choices are getting shitter and shitter every year. But that's just how it is. The demographics demand this sort of trend. If the dems or repubs work on expanding immigration, they'll both be fucked...atleast temporily. The unions are very divided on this....and so are the conservatives. Most common union folks realize that this isn't what's best. Immigration should be a reasonable levels, and labor markets shouldn't be losing wage rates. Sadly the union leaders have been grasped by open border affiliates. So something interesting is left in store for them. I'm not quite sure what will happen, since the balancing act of power is getting tenious at best. The conservative base of the right is very much against this. This would permanently divide the party, imo. Overall, the left would be harmed a bit, but ultimately they'd gain many constitutents.
