Isnt porn illegal in India? I also thought that any books, films etc that criticize India or Indian religions are banned by the govertment. I dont know for sure but i think theres very strict guidlines as to how women must dress, not showing much skin etc and kissing in public is looked down upon?
Maybe but i remember seeing some british govt website when i was at college about travelling to India and things to be aware of which listed alot of stuff about the difference (far stricter) laws like drugs laws, dressing etc.
It's funny. When people oppose gay marriage, they say that's primitive. When they say let's ban harmful drugs like cocaine, etc, they say it's primitive. I guess morality is primitive to most nowadays.
There are strict laws about drugs, its not permitted in India. but I have no idea about any 'dressing' law...ofcourse nudity in public place is prohibited, but as long as you have clothes on (No matter what kind of clothes), you are safe.. Not a crime, just not socially accepted. You wont be sent to jail just because you are homosexual, unless you try to force someone to have sex.. There are few homosexual couples live in India..
Theres probably ALOT of them living in India but due to society they have to hide it, things like that probably what the op means about Indians not having the freedom that Americans have.
