Hey, I was wondering if anyone can give me tips on how to drive more traffic to my site. I recently made a site that posts online bargains daily
There are many creative ways to start getting traffic - i even wrote an ebook about it.. Some ways are: submitting to directories, "creative" marketing, social networking sites - it takes some work and a lot of time but the payoff can be great. One thing is for sure, if you just throw site up and do nothing, you'll get zero (or very little) traffic... .
hello aluh82, have you tried submit your site to big search engines ? submit several articles to article directories also could help, keep posting on DC, give great signatures for each post.

I've submitted to search engines and posted on blogs so far....trying to get some link exchange now. Are there any other ways?
So if I wrote a very good webpage, with lets say 100 pages of information about a specific topic, and threw it all up at the same time, would I get few visitors after a while? Do I need to write new articles one time a week or something? Or is it enough with a site that covers a lot of information in its topic, and then just go marketing it for weeks? Im actually thinking about doing this.

Let me clarify.. If you made a really good website with lots of good, original content, and added more content every week or so, you would eventually get traffic. The key is getting the site into search engines which requires backlinks and submission(s). Doing everything right will get you lots of traffic quickly (say a few months) - doing nothing or very little may not yield any real traffic for a year or more.. I think a lot of people just think they can throw a pre-made script up on the internet, and get rich in one or two months.. It just (usually) does not work that way.. It takes work, effort, and time..
tearabite, this is a little bit OOT, but which one you choose ? website or blog ? cause people here said that has hundreds of pages, I wonder do they use blog which we can add content by automatically posting it (don't need to update or create html page) or create html page manually ?
I prefer a "real" website - however there are a few people out there making some good money with only a blog.. But, for the website, i recommend using a CMS which similar to a blog does not require much, if any HTML coding, etc. A real "site" (CMS or old-fashioned HTML) gives you more control and flexibility IMHO - especially for those of us that are HTML/PHP-challenged..
