Will Google announce an official release of when the page rank update is after the page rank update has taken place? I mean I know we will know, but for those such as myself that have contracts depending on dates of the page rank updates, will there be a specific date announced? It hasn't happened quite yet has it?
Hasnt happened in 2007 yet. I have never seen an OFFICIAL word from Google that they are announcing an update date.
If we are talking about the same site. That lists previous dates and expected dates (not actual future update dates).
DC = Data Center You wont be able to determine a date. Its just not possible. But the best guess is mid Jan.
A no brainer is you can't depent on the G tool bar. Now that we are all on the same page you have to make "logical" deductions based on several G datacenters and this is not an area that is for the noob.
No ways to know when it will happen, google never announced PR updates I feel some people really wait that update too , well it shouldn't be long now... I give it 1 more week (hoping)...
FWIW, I have a site that shows different PR than it did yesterday. It has been a PR4 for a while, and now it shows as a PR5.
I'm guessing SOMETHING will happen within the next two weeks (just to be safe) as it's been quite a while since the last update. We need one too as it's been quite a while. There are various predictors of when the update will be, but I haven't see any rock solid dates.
There are a lot of threads starting and it will continue to start about PR for next 2 or 3 weeks,.,,, PR update is just near to happen... I am one of them
I think I remember Matt Cutts saying that by the time you see your PR update in the toolbar, it has already been in effect for a few months. So that tells me when WE actually see the update, it doesn't mean much other than confirmation of where we rank, since our site should already be receiving the new rank/traffic months before hand. That said. I have noticed a few significant changes to some keyword rankings for my site over the last few weeks. So my guess would be these changes were related to a PR update that we just have not been "told" about yet.
Doesn't sound like the best business practice... But to answer your question - there is no official announcement of PageRank exports, the closest you might find would be a mention on Matt Cutt's blog, but remember, it's not an official Google channel.
Google is constantly updating SERPS and factoring in backlinks etc - the "update" is just what shows on the toolbar and it is a non-event for ranking purposes - they were already factored in before the update - i.e. even if your site goes from a PR0 to a PR7, you aren't going to see any rankings change because of the toolbar update.
I don't recommend you give your clients any specific dates. There is no way to know. It'll happen when it happens, and from what most people are estimating, it'll be around mid to end of January. You should tell your clients a ballpark figure of when it'll happen.
i wish it will take alteast another 2 weeks becoz I have just launched a new site and want it to be indexed fully.
