Same way, a country has the right not to allow something that they think not appropriate for their people...
LOL The people are not deciding, they are not allowed to decide. The government cannot decide what's best for others, unless someone is being physically or financially harmed. You are brainwashed.
You ASSUME that to be "primitive". I take offense to "ultra-conservative" being equated with "primitive". You also ASSUME there is not an absolute "right and wrong" that exists, but seeing how vehement you are about seeing two Indians make out, I'm not even gonna go there.
I don't give a damn on what they allow or not allow in Indian movies bud. They are just another part of the entertainment. I was just trying to point out the kind of sarcasm you have when you started the thread...
And what are you gonna do if I hand your little Johnny a copy of "Hot & Spicy Pizza Girls" at the bus stop? You gonna call the police? Oops - That law was repealed in your world. Remember - We didn't want to be "primitive". By your reasoning, Little Johnny has THE RIGHT to decide what he wants to see. Better turn off your cable - We're showing "How To D.P. an Unwilling Young Virgin" on the Disney Channel! Then who will be the prisoner? You won't be able to turn on your TV, Doofus. Whatever dude. What do I know - I'm "clueless".
This is the perfect example DEMOCRACY. In INDIA every man has right to do what he/she wants. Producer and Director wanted to make a Movie and he Made DHOOM-2 . any the man wanted to suit against the kissing scene, he did. Here is another xample Mallika Lands in Obscenity Suit Trouble
Yes we consider some films as harmful to our children (Extreme Violence and protrayal of women) So only each film has to get the approval of censor Board how many times parents will do the job some times children may see it without the knowledge of Parents?... And also we consider some things as harmful and some as not
Hello Mr PoloShirt, And with all due respect, I nominate your thread as the dumbest thread of 2007. First of all, If any scumbag, asshole, attention seeking, low life jerk files a no-stand case somewhere doesnt give you the rights to accuse the whole country and its citizens. Furthermore, India doesnt have any Law where kissing is banned. We do have laws against obscene behaviour in public places, but nothing as such as cited in that news.. India is the largest democratic country and everyone is free to express his/her opinions, and that gives everyone a right to file PIL (Public Intrest litigation) and as always, the mentioned news is nothing but a simple abuse of rights.
lol you are worried about movies Indian police is against love, they harass couples in parks and other public places. ( http://in.news.yahoo.com/051221/137/61n37.html ) Some communal sects (Shiv-Sena) are demanding to ban Valentines Day.( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/2749667.stm ) Few years back in Chandigarh, youngsters were arrested for playing pool/snooker. ( http://www.tribuneindia.com/2003/20030306/cth1.htm )
This the example of India as a democratic they can do whatever they want? but subjected to some limitations
I think its about knowing your right, if people have eucation and know there rights than they would standup for something which is wrong but if they dont know the rights than they are puppets you can move them either way you want. SPEEDY enjoy
LOL, how about the article I posted? Movie makers must send their films through a "censor"? I'm sure there are countless other social restrictions.
That article talks about bullshit, not the govt. or Indian laws. read my earlier post in this very thread.. The Indian Film censor board is known as 'Central Board of Film Certification' and is the counterpart of USA's MPAA. they only issue certificates like U (Universal, no restriction) U/A( Parental discretion advised) and A (Adults only) the same way USA has its G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17.. Moreover, rating system for movies are implemented in many other countries including England, Australia, Germany etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_picture_rating_systems Ohh my god!! USA has a rating system for movies/TV/Games too ?? That must mean USA govt enslaves its people and you are nothing but just another slave.... Better you dont worry about India and its people and take care of your own country... People of india are wise enough to take care of their own country...
I think we've all seen that "Mr. Popped Collar" has no clue what he's babbling about. He's still trying to refute the points made against his position on Page 1, and keeps trucking out generalities... India is a proud and valuable country that is doing just fine without the intervention of some starry-eyed misled geek from the U.S... Here's hoping your next "crusade" is worthwhile.
I agree with AZhitman on this one. Unfortunately kids are influenced very easily by what comes out on TV. Why does everything good on tv have to do with sex?In fact i have seen some very good bollywood movies that didnt have sex scenes and many people watched them. Would we show the same movies 50 years ago that we show today?
