I asked for your strongest objection. All I get is excuses as to why you can't put it out there for me and others to examine. I guess you havn't read the Bible then. With all this hatred for for the Bible you'd think you'd have a favorite nasty story you'd like to shoot from the hip. Guess not. If you can't give an example from your own mind then I'm not going to waste my time watching your silly video. I want to know what's in your head. You accuse the Bible of being nasty. So what's the nastiest thing in it. Back your position up with a book, chapter and verse.
What you got was a link to a video that you're too lazy to watch, and resolutely denying it without even watching it. Wrong guess, I have. Translation: You don't have anything to say in defense & refuse to even watch the video, which of course you know to be silly without even having watched it
What part of "give me something specific" didn't you understand? Hard to defend against silence don't you think? If I can't refute the nastiest part then why bother with the easier ones? Then answer the simple question: what is the nastiest part of it? I've heard of videos claiming you can avoid paying taxes too. I'm not going to waste my time watching that one either. If you can't offer up a single example of something you think is nasty from the Bible then I'm going to demand you refute Answers In Genesis before we continue. You must post a verbose rebuttal to every single argument then have in your own words here. Otherwise we can all assume you and your crazy atheist ways are bunk. Refusing to meet this challenge proves that you know nothing. And when you're done with AG you must refute every piece of Christian literature and video available on YouTube.
What about self-mutilation? Jesus says: 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew 5:29-30;&version=31; (Matthew 5:29-30) Self-multilation has never been and never will be the answer for anything. It is a mental illness and a sysmptom of Borderline Personality Disorder People who perform self-multilation because they feel they have sinned, or that they are evil, bad, etc. do not feel better after the event. If someone presently does what jesus said, it would possibly lead to great loss of blood, infection, shock, and death. You see a person would possibly lose more than just a part of their body, they can loss their life.
The problem is anything I bring up in response to that question will be countered with infantile excuses, such as being "issues of faith" or "interpretation". This is because of your constipated way of thinking which holds a fictional book with bloodthirsty discourses & fallacious claims supreme, and puts it ahead of reason. Rather than scrutinize such a book & look at it critically. I'll post the transcript of that video here, since you're so adamant not to watch it. Let's see if you have anything to say in response to it:
Give me a break, you're the guys who are believing in this cock & bull story called Christianity. I don't need to refute imaginary "literature". It's equal to "refuting" Harry Potter. All the claims in the Bible are just that, claims, unless you can back it up with evidence. It's your holy book not mine, I don't revere it.
LOL, a gay doesn't go to heaven? Do you know that there is a "DNA" to gay people? So stfu... god was the assh*le that made the gays!
Will everyone please quit bringing up Old Testament quotes and attempting to relate them to Christianity? Only the New Testament applies directly to Christianity. Thanks.
The gay gene doctor was investigated on his methods and his results, so as far as I know it was debunked, but feel free to post something that is definite, but you might want to make sure before you post it. Where does this fit into the discussion on this thread anyways.
http://www.google.com There's no shortage of sites on the net that will explain things for you. Since all you can do is cut and paste and pretend I have to waste my weekend on you, I'm using google.com as my rebuttal. I asked for the most thing you think is the nastiest in the Bible. That's it. If you can't handle doing things one thing at a time then you're just going to have to learn to do research on your own.
But there's only one book that does it for you You're too stupid to realize that those verses in the transcript are indeed from the Bible. They're all up there, you're welcome to try & rebut them one at a time Should be amusing.
You could learn alot from the OT. Doesn't mean it all applies today. Since you can't offer up an issue from your own mind then I'm not giving you a rebuttal from mine. I don't have time for mindless cut and paste wars. http://www.google.com happy searching.
You wanted examples of the nasty parts of the Bible, not the nasty parts of my mind They need to be copied & pasted from the Bible. There, he said it again.
exe, what you do not understand about Christianity is that we are now free of the Law of Moses. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. As Paul says so rightfully "I had not known sin, but by the law." Rom 7:7 Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ This is what Christians mean by Grace. We are now free from the conviction of the Law through the Blood of the Lamb, who sacrificed Himself upon the tree for our sins once and for all.
From point 5: "God wants to be known" That was funny for 2 reasons . One, the author's belief that he or she know what God wants. Two, if an all powerful deity wanted anything, wouldn't he already have accomplished it? Well he used to let himself be known with miracles floods etc.... That is until video cameras and every means of capturing proof of his existance was invented. Then he kinda stopped.
One thing even God cannot do is make us love Him. Not by definition of the word. It is not enough simply to know God in the sense you are suggesting: Jam 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But they do not "love" Him.
... but does not your words contradict's Paul conversion to christianity, the very guy you just quoted? In the book of Acts Saul hated and hunted christians, the bible claims while he was on the road of Damascus Jesus appearred to him, blinded him until he believed and then God sent a servant to heal his eyes. Then Saul changed his name to Paul Christians claimed Paul is one of the greatest christians to ever live. So God can just do the same thing again correct? Then what's stopping him?
