actually, you should have made is shorter, a good directory is indexed every day and nobody wouldn't have had the time to build many backlinks. one week would have been enough, and prizes symbolic. so everyone would have only add a link in their directory and let it there.

it took a day for the page where I placed the link to appear in google results. 1st edit: Or, let's do something else. buy a domain, a fresh one, place a page there with some content and in maximum 24 hours after I add it as featured, Google will be visiting the page, or even faster, once visited a domain of mine in half of hour. 2nd edit: I've just added a domain I bought yesterday. Let's see after 24 hours how many robots are visiting it. now there is none.
links arena should be disqualified, you are allowed to use DirectoryContest.com only once in your description as far as I know, actually, there are more in this situation.

Well, you said all the pages in a directory get indexed everyday - I find that most unlikely. However, you do bring up some good points - and you should consider running your own contest. The more information directory customers have, the better!
dont't really have the time to run a contest. I myself run around 20 websites, lots of work, believe me!. and about using DirectoryContest.com only once in the description... I'm sure I've seen this somewhere, otherwise, consider setting a description that sounds something linke "DirectoryContest.com,DirectoryContest.com,DirectoryContest.com,DirectoryContest.com.." and then putting behind a PR7 backlink and you won. If you search google you will see I also used DirectoryContest.com twice in my description but now it is removed. about the indexing, 5 hours later and Google, MSN and Yahoo are already on the site just added. Edit: looks like directorycontest.com didn't payed his hosting bill, too shame.

sorry if I offended anyone! this is what the page says right now anyway, I'm sure it is not a scam, and I don't really care if it were a scam since this would bring up the best directories, except of some that are cheating by creating backlinks to the category the link is submitted. I mean, you can easily make the difference, take the first 20-40 directories that respond to google's search "directorycontest.com", search in them for a common URL and then search it on G, see which appears on the first page. it would take you about a day to make such a report but it is worth it. uff, another edit. take a look at www.linksarena.com though, I mean, NO ONPAGE SEO Optimizaion but it has. require it's owner his header.tpl file, you will see there something like : {if cat.ID=XXX} directorycontest.com,directorycontest.com/{else}directory,seo friendly,free webdirectory{/if} Code (markup): XXX is the ID of the category /webmasters I can also make something like this to win
