Apparently DreamHost doesn't like it when their customers run a proxy site. This is what I got in my mail today:

I am not complaining, just sharing the info :)

CGIProxy eats higher memory. I was running PHProxy on my DreamHosted site.

I don't know the the hell people use DreamHost for proxies or any other hosting. Sooner or later your account will get screwed.

Because I wanted to just test out how much traffic a proxy site will fetch. Account will not get screwed. I just got a friendly mail that the proxy has been disabled. That's the end of it. Nothing to fret and fume about. :)

Hey guys, sometime my proxy site dosnt open. someone told me it must be coz of Processor that i have i.e. p4, i have cent os.. but i think it is because of RAM coz when i check my ram usage it says 80% is used by one of my website so .upgrading ram can resolve the issue of site timeout. i mean my site dosnt open sometime.. it just shows opening.... and dosnt show anything for hours.. so when i restart apache it works.. so upgrading ram issue can resolve this ??? please answer

I dont know, it just comes to be honestly.
I can on PHP, PM me.

Btw go to http://focused.org/proxies/ and look at the server page. I posted a link to a server on Layeredtech. 2gb ram, 2tb bandwidth, good processor, scsi drives $129.

Yeah, I think it's because when you put your link at places like proxy.org or goodwaiter, the Iranian blogs will eventually pick it up, which is what you want. My main sources of traffic in my last network were Iranian blogs.

On a sidenote, I can't get into Goodwaiter because my proxy isn't URL encoded...does anyone know how to do that with CGIProxy?

    About http://www.managemybox.com/

    ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

    Block Removal

If Customer actions have caused MANAGEMYSERVICES mail servers or MANAGEMYSERVICES IP address ranges to be placed on black hole lists and other mail filtering software systems used by companies on the internet, Customer will be assessed a $100 charge to Customer account and $100 per hour for administrative charges incurred to remove and protect mail servers and IP ranges.

Is there a same policy at other hosters? it's unsafe to host proxy with them as IP may be blocked?
