Hi everyone, (Im not in on anything to happen here at DP, just making reasearch for my own projects!) I would like to know what most people think about memberships and how much they pay or would be willing to pay (month/semester/year). Ive seen one big webmaster forum that charges. Also some minor niche forums that are only for members. To get the ball rolling: - How much would you pay to be a member here at DP. - Examples of membership payments you make on other fourms.
If we had to pay I would never have joined here, now I would probably be willing to pay, but only a few dollars a month.
I wouldn't want to pay for it. I enjoy this forum a lot, but there are free alternatives, so if I had to pay, I'd go there.
I would not pay to join the forum and participate, however I would not mind paying for certain priveledges - say for having a signature.
id pay excately whatever it required to make my own webmaster forum and enjoy all the revenue i get from ex DP members on it.
Not a dime. I love this forum, but one of the defining principles I've based MY forum on is that information should be free. It caused us a lot of extra work in the beginning, but now we're the biggest in our niche - So, the gamble paid off.
Return on investment is what counts, some webmasters are willing to pay money to forums like WMW because they need all the possible information they can get to succeed. They have careers working for giant companies, getting help is critical and they are willing to pay a fee that is a write off to get the information. If you are working for a multi-million dollar company, paying a small fee per year to get in a private forum is nothing.
I'll give you 50 bucks to quit posting forever, $1,000.00 if you get Nintendo to quit posting for at least 5 years!
probably more, i rather pay for dp lol, I dont want to go bankrupt now just so nintendo looses his virginity to a girl,guy, or animal haha.
I think paying for DP membership would be worth it (max $20/month from me). I've earned so much more using DP (selling, finding new clients) so it would be worth it!
I think atleast the payments would be useful for the server donation that shawn is asking for, mabe until it gets paid off then it can be free again lol, but thanks to the donators this forum will remain free
Wow very interesting responses... So except for one of you, noone would pay for DP membership. So is there any other explanation apart from anthonycea's that people pay at this other webmaster forum? Oh on another note, the fact that DP is actually giving back to its community is very interesting! Big thumbs up to Shawn!
