Hello... I have just found out that biz-king was actually a website that launched in the begining of 2002 then for whatever reason was discontinued and i started a the directory in july 2006 after purchasing the domain in march. So what im wondering is will google take that into consideration? As i have heard that older sites are trusted sites.... or will this have no value. thx malcolm
Older domains are very well trusted. However sometimes if they go offline or are sold the trust is removed.
age definitely matters for domains. it's much easily to rank higher with an old domain than a new one.
I agree that yes Google does take into account the age, also I've heard that Google has the ability (but maybe not implemented in SERPS) to see how much longer it's registered for.
well if thats the case google is going to love most of my websites as they are all bought and registered for the next 10 years. thx malcolm
Age of domain matters a lot. In addition, the site has to be regularly and consistently updated in order to benefit. I have seen aged sites which have languished and subsequently been penalized in the form of low PR later on.
