For long, my sites werent performing that good and never got external traffic from search engines .. I was new to the concept of SEO too .. then I tried out many SEO tools and needless to say, the traffic increased [doubled] . the first tool i used was quite lame .. next one i came across was WebCEO .. it depends on what you want it to do of course there is no button to make your pages be N.1 for all competitive keywords, but tools can help to automatize yor work
