I bet there are many affiliate like me who are struggling hard to get to 2K mark in one month. I would like to get some suggestion from someone who has surpassed that boundary. My best month was december when I pocketed $1780. I have heard/read stories about people making over 10K per month, but I am assuming they will not have time to reply to my post. I really want to hear some good stories from cj.com to motivate myself for more affiliate commission, ain't you?
jazz7620 Congrats...Now I'm not much further ahead then you ... but seems you're on the right track. For me I started seeing growth in my income when I a.) Started broadening my focus so looked into niches outside my exact area of expertise, and built more sites to promote more programs. b.) Started looking into more lead deals/CPA deals not just commission % for selling goods. I found these converted better then just deals for a % of a product. I'm in the same boat as you though wanting to push my commissiosn towards the 3K mark good luck in 07 with your goals!
bebe123: I never really made money from my cheap-webhosting website...I think the niche is too competitive and lots of returns of sale, but if it works for you, its awesome. I also started looking at the lead type commission, earlier I was only doing sale commission. Free music leads worked out good for me. I am trying weight loss, debt consolidation etc, but its too competitive I guess. But I will wait and watch if I start making some money from these niches. Spikey, what kind of niches are you promoting?
jazz7620 my web site there is in cj for 13 day and i have first sale ($90) i think there is a good niche but more vompetitive.. i try to found a new niche
i dont think so 1780$ is good amount, i am also managing my affilaite program on cj many of my affiliates earning more then 3K per months.
These are great numbers you guys are talking about. I'm nowhere near $2k or $3k per month yet, but gradually increasing from low $xxx.xx so I might catch up with you guys one day. A new niche for me that looks interesting is court records/background checks. It fits into my main niche (which I won't reveal) in an interesting way. But I've had to go elsehwere for programs since there's nothing on CJ, unless I've missed something. Anyone have success with this niche - court records/background checks?
I made $7k a month on one site (insurance related) for 3 consecutive months last year before MSN banned the site.
I'd be very interested in featuring some folks who are making that much with Commission Junction. I've been with them for over three years and the most I've made has been just under $400 in a month. Would any of you be willing to share some of your secrets with me for a bit of free promotion? I'm not asking you to reveal your biggest money maker or niche - because I don't. Perhaps just share with my readers how you unlocked the key to higher commissions. Thanks Gayla MomGadget.com
What is this really CJ.com ... can someone explain please. What do you guys do to earn money from them? Put there ads on your site? Please explain as i have never used them... Thanks alot!
It's an affiliate program that pays "commissions" for leads or sales. People do all sorts of things to make money from them and other affiliate programs.
The key is targetted traffic. Rank number 1 for car insurance and then direct your visitors to car insurance affiliate. Build unique content, don't just stick banners on the site. Nobody clicks on banners. Test 5 campaigns and then pick the one with the best EPC and ditch the other 4.
I have not had much luck with CJ a few sales through my forum but nothing above $500. The hard thing is getting traffic to the site to earn commission, I get 1 sales per 4000 visitors on average.
I have visited simplelance.com and that looks like your site, well its good if u get $500 for a new forum. Your forum looks new and its good going already
I haven't made anything on CJ... I've had 12 impressions (probably all from me) and absolutely NO clicks. Suggestions are welcome!
What do you mean by building unique content? I understand that our content all has to be unqiue in order to get a good SERP but if you are not using banners I'm not sure what you are meaning then.
My Advice is to be FAST. Be able to have a site up and running in 1 day and focus on building the traffic for an entire week. Often, things wont last too long, so first mover advantage can yield a lot of $$$ for affiliate sales.
