Someone said that directory will die in 2007, whether you believe it or not, to building backlink, I think blog will be more and more important than directory .
    What do you think about?

Directories arent going anywhere any time soon, and blogs get higher PR faster it seems but directories can have more pages making it worth more for later PR sell and such.

    thx

I think with Google and their new method of ranking sites that blogs will surpass directories in terms of importance for backlinks.

The web directory may not die in 2007 (perhaps 2008 or 2009), but late 2006 saw the emergence of the blog as the next evolution of web directories. Golly - relevant links embedded in content - especially deep links - how can that NOT be better than your standard web directory.

    Blogs are so 2005

But you are right, with hundreds of directories being created every week something has to give. However the blogblaster type of programs mean blogs will never be a simple solution - like any website you'll have to work hard.

Exactly - and perhaps because developing a decent blog network is a tad more difficult than standing up a directory script, the growth of blogs being used like web directories will be substantially lower than what we see with new web directories.

100's of directories compared to 1000's of blogs. hrmmmm
And with the blog scripts out there to automate 100's in not 1000's at a time...

blogs will be the next phase in severe spammage. but i have to admit, they sure as hell gain PR a lot faster than anything else of the norm, like a dir, or a website.

Make your Blog like a Web Directory! It will be a bit more work for the constant updating, but the payoff is much greater.

Which creates a barrier to entry - hopefully making the "directory" style blogs just a bit higher quality - not a lot, just a bit.

    :D

Ok, if you compare standard Directories VS standard Blogs they have strengths and weakness, blogs are good on content and embedded links but directories are better on co-citation. I tried to mix the 2 and get the best of booth worlds.

Right - I consider your directory MUCH better and higher quality than the "standard" directory that the "average" person sets up using the "normal" directory script. Perhaps directories will evolve - as yours has - to include features most remarkable about blogs.

What's the different between an article site and your directory?

    Good question:

    - the categories pages where you get the co-citation that don’t exist at articles directories or blog's

    - my directory only lists reviews of sites not general information articles.

    - Normally links are inserted on footer of articles, at my directory are inserted inside content like it happens at blogs.

    - Also the extensive review is optional, so your listing can work as a classical directory if you chose to.

I think you could safely say my directory it’s a mix of classical, article and blog directories trying to get the best of each type.
