Hello, i posted a similar post a while back but the suggestions didnt work. I built a quality website in January of 2006. It is now 1 year later and the serps still hate me.

my site is Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips Online

keywords optimized for, in order of optimization:

    1. Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips (google rank 0)
    2. Bass Fishing Tips (google rank 12)
    3. Largemouth Bass Fishing (google rank 14)

my rankings in google are hard to understand.

And my inner pages don't really rank well for anything.

Now I understand my ranking for #2 and #3

but what I cant figure out is my ranking for my most optimized term
    "Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips"

Can someone shed some light for me?

    oh and btw
    Yahoo ranks like this:

    1. Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips (rank 30)
    2. Bass Fishing Tips (rank 64)
    3. Largemouth Bass Fishing (rank 95)

seems low to me because some of the sites ahead of mine are rediculous
. But maybe i just havent optimized correctly?

Get more links mate, you have fewer then 100 backlinks in MSN which is nothing.

    Yeah looking good.

I have briefly looked at your site, one thing which comes to mind is having a common URL link format for your homepage. In your footer you link to http://largemouthbasstips.com/ yet in the navigation menu at the top you link to http://www.largemouthbasstips.com/index.php Use one common link format, preferably http://www.largemouthbasstips.com/ as most other webmasters use this. That way, you reduce PR leakage. I see you already redirect the non WWW version to the WWW version which is a good thing.

Submit your site to lots of free directories with good anchor text and you will start to see improvments in the serps.

Hi zibzer.. Usually when you are soo focused on optimizing a site for a set of keywords, you tend to forget or over-look other related keywords that could be as important as the keyword you are trying to optimize for. Do not stick to just 'Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips Online', but use variations of the keyword, and use synonyms also on your page. Some variations for your keywords could be 'Online Fishing Tips', 'Online Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips', 'Online Bas Fishing Tips', 'Online Largemouth Fishing Tips' etc.
