Take a look at www.videoprofessorscam.com. John Scherer has no qualms about spending big bucks to crush any criticism of Video Professor. It costs major dollars to defend these cases & if you ignore it & they win a judgement against you, then you are screwed.
I respect your opinions but here on the west coast I must use the phrase "rich jerk" a few days of the week!
That isn't the point. The point is no-one was using the phrase for selling electronic publications online, and now they are, having been granted the Trademark (Serial Number: 78719206 Registration Number: 3171019)
In case you haven't noticed RParker already redirected it to Circlejerkclan.com Hope you keep your rankings, and if not, that you get them back soon.
Hey man if the rich jerk wants to be a jerkoff like he is, The faster he can take your domain and hard seo the faster he will be google bowled by someone and banned permanently with one night of blog and ping. Sometimes its the only way to learn his lesson if no one is coming to his site through seo and he has to pay to get people to his site he will learn Let me know if he actually takes your domain because he wont be on google, yahoo, msn, or ask within the next 3 days. Im not saying I will do it or im affiliate with it It could be some dude getting really really pissed off and saying thats it Rich Jerkoff is going to be google jerked off.
Just go with something generic like MoneyMakingScams.com or Dont-Believe-The-Rich-Scammer-Spamming-You.com If you 301 it and leave both sites up for 2+ months you'd be fine cheers
I bet the rich jerk is just annoyed because your website goes against him. I'm sure you have freedom of speech. I would recommend you put a disclaimer in there somewhere though.
why don't you check the trademark by yourself http://www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm just a thought
Hmmmm This looks pretty much like the form letter that eBay sends out - I got one for a site I have called http://www.ebaysucksbigtime.com I basically told eBay to take a long walk off a short pier a year and a half ago and I have never heard from them since.... richjerk also sold a website on ebay 2 years ago for over $360,000 called guesswhatiheard.com I've tried promoting richjerk products and I can tell you that he gives you all the right expensive keywords through clickbank and guess what, the richjerk does not convert, period.
Wow I didnt realise there were so many legal problems with things like this! I guess the big companies have the money and can afford to sue people here, there and everywhere Be nice if there was a way to beat them lol
Whatever you do, don't mention selling it to him for a profit or he will get you for cybersquating and trying to take advantage of him. Talk to a lawyer before discussing anything with him. The parody thing would most likely work because that is covered by the fair use act. Also a complaint site that is open for anyone to post their opinion about the company is fair use too. But talk to a lawyer!
within ur .com content. trying not to use the phrase 'rich jerk' as one word. u can have "richjerkscams" as a brand. 'rich jerk' is phrase, not brand. although its trademarked, as long u not doing business using it, its fine. he own therichjerk, not mean he own all 'rich jerk' phrase .com dont close down. who knows u get a good offers from this. hehe good luck!
I hope your business don't suffer with that. I got an issue some months ago. I was outranking someone with one of my squeeze page and he sent me an email like yours. As I was beginnins, I did not take any risk (affiliate marketing is my job), I have a familly... ANd I don't have any lawyer with me. You may want to do a search on Google for Bob Silber, he can help. P.S: I've seen this site on another forum, well done.
