Over the past months, I had been displaying images next to my adsense units. If you haven't heard, Google posted in their adsense blog that you're not allowed to display images next to your adsense if the images and the adsense seem related. My images and adsense were doing just this so I decided to change the adsense layout to keep within the adsense rules. I completely redid my adsense layout, I removed the images and ad units and added adsense units with bright, rotating colour palettes. If you want to try this, you can follow an article I wrote here - Adsense Article. You may think that having bright colours will decrease CTR - well it does. My CTR decreased from roughly 5% to near 1% although my earnings increased, I think this is because the conversion rate of the advertisers is higher (clicks to sales) to my CPC increased 8 times. This means that my earnings increased by 1.6 times. Do you think I am correct in assuming that by creating a higher conversion rate, I am also increasing my CPC? Does that mean that I am counteracting smartpricing? Will my CPC stay this high? I'd like to hear your thoughts on my findings.
well me too was using images next to ads but since google said its not allowed to do this i removed the images expecting low in everything but guess what i have increase in cpc and earning , one question about rotating the ads is this make difference ?
I don't think the rotating colour palettes is what increased the CPC, it just helps to keep the CTR reasonably high.
