Is hanging of Saddam worth 3,000 US soldiers and $400 bln?

Because the whole world knew Saddam didn't have WMD (as did CIA and the white house ), but nevertheless Bush ordered the invasion.

FYI, WMD's were found...they weren't nukes (most ignorant people believe nukes are the only WMD's), but they were WMD's.

You shouldn't make statements that are outright false. The fact is that the whole world believed he had WMDs, including the USA, Russia, France and Germany, because these countries sold them to him. He also used them on the Iranians and Kurds.

d16man is correct, WMDs are not just nukes. I don't recall anyone saying that he had nukes, but he was trying to develop them.

There is not one shred of evidence that Bush lied about anything. Bad information about the WMDs location and fabricating a lie are two different things. We know the WMDs existed but we still don't know where most of them are. Iraq is a large country and Saddam had more than 5 years to hide them. I agree with the Isrealis and other intelligence groups that think they were moved to Syria or buried deep in the desert.

As for whether or not it is worth the price being paid, only time will tell. The liberal media and the Demorats bashed Reagan on a daily basis, but most of his ideas turned out to be right.

    IMHO, hanging of Saddam worth;

    $400 bin +

Life of 3000 US Soldiers +

Life of Hundreds of other Coalition Troops +

Life of Thousands of Iraqi Troops +

Life of Hundreds of Thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women and children +

Polution in Iraq and neighbouring countries due to smoke, Chemical spills, unsecured hazardous materials, depleted uranium etc. (according to UN) +

Peaceful life of millions of people around the world.

May be you can add few more items to the list.

    Ishaq.

And if Saddam had remained in power could we have expected:
    • Peace in the Middle East {no more threats to Kuwait, Israel, etc.}
    • No strife between Sunnis and Shiites
    • Freedom for the Kurds
I am sure there is more you can add to this list. Trouble is all of the woulda/coulda/shoulda is just plain conjecture.

Saddam the thug is dead, let's move forward.

I can think of a few Iraqi families that would love the chance to answer this question.

I would suggest the war supporters.

IT IS TIME TO GET THERE.

The sooner you get there the faster you'll find out the real truth.

Let me guess why you're here.

-You have other things to do.
    -Or you're 16years old.
-Or you're simply following Bush's example.

    Thanks for the great insight!
I thought you like freedom. May be you sure like it, but only when it fits your agenda;)
The lives and freedoms of the Iraqis are not so important when not in line and or out of the agenda.

When people don't like something. They start making up stuff that doesn't exist.

The facts I showed DO exist.

And if the lives of 3,000 + US soldiers aren't so important to you. THE ARE THE MOST VALUABLE THING IN 3,000 + AMERICAN FAMILIES.

$400 bln. is not the most important. We can make them.

But we'll never bring the 3,000 + dead soldiers to their loved ones.
The children of all those soldiers will never again enjoy their fathers.

To suggest that somebody is a "troll" in regards to this thread is quite selfish IMO.

You can lock any thread that you don't like, but you'll never lock the truth that people die in Iraq for next to nothing.

So, are you suggesting these men and women died in vain? To trivialize the war by comparing their loss of life with getting a madman out of power is unfortunate.

I have followed quite a number of the interviews with people who lost family members. Although they are grieving for their loss, most understand that their family members chose to serve. Remember, this is an all voluntary military you are criticizing.
