Text-link-ads Backlinks?

Not sure where to post this but does anybody know how many backlinks you need before getting accepted into the text-link-ads program?

 

So that linkpopularity is not the PR? I thought it was and I saw a lot low numbers and n/a at Alexa rankings

 

I agree...in my experience the main criteria in PR4+ and a properly developed site - by which I mean unique content, professional layout etc.

 

no wonder my pr3 site got rejected even though it gets tons of traffic and has a lot of backlinks.

 

Not sure if it's like that. Take a look at http://www.i-go-cars.com/ it's a PR3 site and it sells it's links for $125 a month in the automative category. Does a good job too as they have sold 9 out of ten

 

are you sure about this auto approval on PR4 sites ?

As far as I know, all sites are hand reviewed before they show up in the TLA directory.

 

I thought so too and I guessed a way they look is number of backlinks. That was my orignal Q.

 

I submitted my PR3 site and got rejected ,they told me I should have a site with at least a PR4.

I agree, I got some approved, and 1-2 sites manually rejected as well.

 

PR changes from time to time--it wasn't necessarily a PR3 when those links were sold.

I have a PR6 with 140,000+ backlinks and it still has yet to be approved; perhaps they're behind on their reviews because of the holiday season?

 

I think text-link-ads depends on PR, Alexa rankings and general traffic.

 

Yes, but there's a problem there: PR and Alexa rankings are no indication of traffic.

PR is only updated once every three months or so and Alexa rankings can be manipulated and faked.

I submitted two sites, first site was PR5, low traffic, low inbound links - it got accepted straight away.

Second site is PR3, high traffic (Alexa 20k-ish), good links - got rejected.

Just my experiences.

 

I don't think they update cost per link so that site was probably a higher PR when it was accepted.

 

Uh, yeah, it was. PR changes from time to time, but that doesn't mean that the site's value or the link's value has changed.
