That's so funny. I think the French just enjoy a good protest.

I REALLY hope the mad French disease doesn't reach the states. With the current state of the left we can't afford that shit right now.

    ^ Amen.

France is pathetic (no offense to any French webmasters). Things like this make no sense.

I mean, they're a socialist government. I'm sure you all know how the job situation is in France, especially several months back. Tis sad.

Their protest is all tongue in cheek. Whatever you think of the French, they make good wine and know how to have fun.

    Oh, good god.

    It's a joke, people...actually, a self-parody. Anything else to worry about currently?

I mean, well, you're wrong. Maybe it's will be true after the 2007's poll.
    I know, I leave there.

And yes, for those still wondering, it was a joke
The key word here is Parodying.

I called my lawyer to ask him to help us out of this sticky wicket. Much to my chagrin, he said that despite the disapproval of a couple of American posters, France is allowed to pursue this baleful line. Specifically, he quoted a renowned study into the matter. An excerpt follows:

I'm afraid the Sword of Damocles falls on us here, boys - specifically, the notion that humor can be legally induced by "absurdity, ludricrousness or ridiculousness." I've asked my local counsel in Europe to look into the matter, and bring it before the world court, to see if we may yet have an opening to condemn this nefarious action of the tyrannical "anti-annuallers."

Monty, n'essayez pas. C'est impossible. Je ne peux pas comprendre des actions de mes confrères. Et je n'essayerai pas non plus.

I wonder how many people read the entire article? It is a spoof. We do similar things in the U.S., all for fun -- nothing more to read into it.

I love the comments that come out condemning those who got a laugh out of the whole french bit.

It's just a joke, don't laugh about it!

What I find is it seems to represent well what comes out of France. Not much of anything, no purpose, self-serving, etc... Now I am sure not all french are this way, but the overall attitude that is shown from France makes France look lame. Just say no to France! (Although, I don't have a clue what we would really being say no to anyways)
