My site has almost 1,700 posts ... and we have only been open to public for 2 months, we've had almost 60,000 unique visitors.

Dude! Nice post man! Very good insight on using social bookmarking (beyond Digg) on a niche site!

How much traffic do you find you get from some of these sites? I'm sure it's not the massive slam you would get from Digg, but to be honest, I think that is probably a benefit. What I saw on a lot of these sites is that the front page stories were older than Digg, so they are on the front couple pages longer(a couple of days or more..), and so traffic would obviously be a bit more gradual.

Also, with these being more specific to your niche, you are getting targeted traffic to your site instead of the Digg masses who click and run. Are you seeing better conversion on traffic from these sites than you would from Digg? (I'd imagine you obviously would, just curious how much better it converts if that is correct..)

    Again, thanks for the post!

P.S. I love the name, Gnome Problem! F*'ing awesome!!!

I'd say each of the separate social bookmarking niches bring about 1/6 to 1/8th as much traffic compared to the digg traffic i get as a whole, but it adds up because i always submit the articles to the various sites, so I get around 1+6/8th output or so sometimes even more depending on how many votes I get at the various sites : )

Also thank you for the very nice comments : ) I'm quite fond of the name as well.

Most of my backend PHP development was done by a very professional and talented coder here on digitalpoint, CodyRo.

It's custom coded/designed, the user CodyRo here on digitalpoint did most of the backend work.

    Great Ideas and Posts irunbakwards,

I am a game developer that just finished a new kind of game. The game itself isnt cutting edge or anything; just a cute little 2d platformer.

What's new about it is that the game takes an ebook about how to make money online and turns it into an adventure. You go around trying to find lost pages like Sonic collects stars, sort of. When you beat the short level, you get to read the actual short chapter. It's a cool concept!

Can you share any ideas besides the very helpful posts you already made as to how I can promo it?(i.e. not including adwords, article marketing, etc; Im looking for a gamer-newbie net marketer niche and how to get their attention)

    thanks!

Good ideas, but focus on content and word of mouth. Social network marketing can only do so much. Digg.com may give you traffic for 4-5 days, but you'll slow down dramatically in no time.
