Hi, A happy new year to everyone ! When you submit articles to article directories that accept links in the article, I'm guessing that keyword link should be the same name as the keyword you're trying to target - for example, "acne skin care" - but should that link go to a page within your site titled "Acne Skin Care", or should the link point to your home page, or something else ? Will this improve the ranking of that destination page (someday) ? Your opinions are appreciated. Thank you.
This is true. Your anchor text should contain your keyword phrases in your articles. Quick tip, if youre submitting many articles, change up your keyword phrases that link to your page... dont always use the same one. heres an article about anchor text. http://www.webpronews.com/insiderreports/searchinsider/wpn-49-20040510AnchorTextTipsThatRocketYourRankings.html good luck! Sometimes I will try to also put a second phrase within the article I repeat a few times and that sometimes will be picked up by search engines when someone does a query. For articles I sometimes will use two different links in the resource box (with different anchor text) and target both the homepage and an internal page. Debbie
It's a good tip to vary the achor text for different articles to target multiple keywords. Links pointing to internal pages is also beneficial from the internal link popularity point of view and for targeted searches.
thanks northbeach23 for reminding me of this. I've been scratching my head lately wondering why my indexes have page rank, and the rest of the site has none. you turned on the lightbulb!
