NamePros.com and sitepoint.com is two of the more famous ones. You may also want to try out Earnersforum.com also :)

I became a member of EarnersForum.com recently and I could personally recommend it to anyone. Excellent resource for monetizing your site/forums. :)

As mentioned previously, SitePoint is a pretty good place to be. I'm a member there, too.

What I would say is, SitePoint is to development what DigitalPoint is to marketing.

So there's some overlap, but I'd say the two are quite complementary.

However, I'd say DigitalPoint has the edge from the qualifying membership point of view.

By that I mean you can't just sign up and spam like a mad man, and there are various ways of publicizing yourself and your stuff which SitePoint doesn't really offer.

Also, you'll find SitePoint is very commercially drive. Lots of advertising of their stuff, but done quite unobtrusively...

You may want to look at the table at the bottom of this post SEO Forums.

The problem with WebmasterWorld is that it lacks the huge memeber base of DP so it can tike to get response on questions.

I'm a member of webmasterworld and earnersforums and DP is by far the best. As posted above, the others do not have the member base that DP has. I still visit the other fourms, but not as often.

WMW used to be the best site available, but it has turned into an "Adsense or bust" enitiy.
Try posting in any other forum and you'll be waiting days for any help.
As well, they are extremely moderator-happy.
I've had my topics moved (and RENAMED!) more times than I can remember.

Way too hands-on for my tastes.
...and that doesn't always equate to a better experience for the reader by way of "quality vs. quantity".
It equates to a very lonely forum, with few lending support.

There are so many like DP, but none of them ARE DP.

    But yes,
    Sitepoint.com
    Namepros.com
    are some of the alternatives
