$50 Graphic Design contest

Hi,

I am interested in changing the motorcycle image on my homepage:
www.seethisitem.com.

I would need something that incorporates the motorcycle photo (preferrably a smaller version of it) since this photo also ties into our photo sample page. I would like to convey the message that 'you can change your basic black and white print ad into full color photos' or something along those lines. I would like the graphic to visually show the service we offer. I am attaching an image of the motorcycle plus another image to give you a very general idea of what I am looking for.

I would need it be a similar size as the one I currently have. Contest will run for 2 weeks and end on Jan 12th. Payment will be made to the winner via paypal.

Please note that I reserve the right to end the contest without a winner if none of the designs are what I am looking for.

This is my first contest so let me know if anything is unclear.

 

Okay, since I have not had any takers thus far, can you guys give me some feedback please by answering the following questions:

1. Is $50 not enough money for what I am asking you to do?
2. Is the job just not interesting to anyone?
3. Do you just not like me?

I really would be interested in some feedback since I would like to have this project done and your answers will help me out.

kck, nice start. here are a few suggestions,

-play around with the font style and change the color to blue (000063)
-I am not crazy about the slogan, let me work on it see what I can come up with. of course, if you have other suggestions, feel free to share them.
-can you brighten the background classified image, it is too dark.
-also, the screen print is not of my site so unfortunately, we can't use it. I am attaching a screen print taken from my site. Try using that instead.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am just sort of spitballing slogans, so they can be easily changed. Also the font can be changed if it doesnt match. It was way too dark so I took out some of the shadow effect. I will play around with the text/slogan more. but tell me what you think so far:

 

looks better. The classified background is still too dark, though and there is something just not right with it. Also, try playing around with the fonts more and maybe something will click. I think the screen print looks good. One thing, would it be possible to add a gray border on the right/left side to close it off more so it looks more like a screen print? thanks~

 

I went for a much more subtle shadow which still adds depth. The font was changed a but the slogan was not. Two will be larger than before but the same otherwise.

hmm... I am thinking the problem is with the classified ad image. Do you have any others to chose from? Also, the screen print looks better on these than on the previous examples. The photo was scrunched up alittle before. Could you try to add the gray borders on the right/left so I can see what it looks like.

I am still thinking about a slogan I want to use...may need to hold another contest for that.

EDIT: I was also to somehow include the 'SeeThisItem.com #1234' in the classified ad image if possible. Is that asking for too much?

Sorry it took so long to get back on this, I was out most of the day. Anyway, the classified image is still not working for me. Are those musical notes on there? The concept with the original classified image was better, but just too dark.

Also, the seethisitem.com #1234, I would rather have on the classified ad image not on the print screen to show visitors that is how buyers will get to their photos.

Good thing, is I think I know the slogan I want to use:

"Upload Photos, Place Ad, Sell Your Item!"

So, you would need to reverse the print screen and classified image and put 'Upload Photos' over the print screen and 'Place Ad' over the classified image with 'Sell Your Item' along the bottom.

nice start. I like #2 more. could you remove 'seethisitem.com'. I don't think I need that on the graphic. Also, the graphic looks alittle too black. Could you play around with the colors alittle. You could use blue, #000063 or something like that and make the bottom text read, Sell Your Item!, instead, if you can fit it. thanks!

nice, just a few notes. I am not crazy about the orange/green colors. Could you play around with them. I think I would like a white background, but I am not sure how that would work out with the other items in the graphic. Also, a red accent color would work well, too. I noticed that the gray portion at the bottom of the print screen has been removed. Could you add that back on so it looks more like an actual print screen. That is all I can think of for now. Let me see what you come up with.
