$1000/mon with a directory?

I feel the same. Investing wisely is the way along with SEO. But the more you invest, the faster your directory grows. 1k/mo is very possible within few years.

 

dont you think aviva and alive making $1000 easily per month?

 

And what about investment I don’t even imagine the $$$ that Aviva and Alive are spending.

Web Directories are a normal rate of return businesses. You can earn $1000/month if you put enough work/money into it.

www.addyoursitefreesubmit.com makes well over that amount and not much work is put into it compared to my other sites that I slave over on a daily basos.

 

I think its very hard to earn that much, out of all my websites, my directory makes a lot less, but it gets at least 3 times more unique visit than my other websites.

 

It all depends on how directories are run.
I would think 99% of directories are just run by people in there spare time
and $1,000 a month is just a nice bit of pocket money for them.

In the other 1%, they are run as a full time job, either by individuals or companies.
I personally run mine full time now and have to make at least $8,000 a month
or go and get a "proper" job.

You get out of it what you put in, I don't spend anything on advertising, but
do put at least 50 hours a week in to my directory.

 

I had made an investigation to some of directories.
Below is the result
You can make $1k/month from PR6 directory easliy
You can't make $50/month from PR3 directory

 

so you think a pr7 directory can make $10K/month?

 

I do not know sim64 but I can certainly relate to his comments a Directory is like any business

Commit to it full time and you will make a lot of money

Do not expect anything out without putting something in

 

making ONLY directories full time is a bit of exaggeration, dont you think
you invest some, you wait and you get some return, like any business indeed.

We do many projects but that is to be expected as we have a team of IT guys, so we follow your points too

 

I'm not sure how much Chris and Jeff make per month,
but I know the owner of 2yi with PR6 make more than $1k per month the owner of hotdir.biz with pr4 make less than $100 monthly

imho they both have low prices, if 2yi raises their prices x2 it could make more $$ and same with hotdir.biz. I think people can pay more for links
