I want to change my site from joomla and start using wordpress. this is because ive found joomla to be terrible for SEO, but its a fairly big blog with lots of articles id hate to start from scratch again. can anyone think of a way to move the articles from the joomla database into the new wordpress one?
i thought wordpress had an import feature that allowed you to import content using RSS. If that isnt available out-of-the-box than look for a plugin that can do something like that for you.
There are many plugins available for the Joomla which makes it SE frndly and many people are using joomla without probs .
yes there are!.. however i can make non of them work.. and im not a complete idiot when it comes to computers (no really im not! ) But even so ive never seen a major site using joomla.. if you can prove me wrong and show me a joomla site with a good google rank.. id probably reconsider, but i don't think you'll find one.
You can try Drupal if you didnt want Joomla...its SE friendly out of the box. Now Drupal has come out with Drupal 5.0 RC...its almost 100% fit for consumption. theonion.com is a top site using Drupal.
i'd second topdraw regarding the use of drupal. I've just set up a site based on civicspace for an NGO client and it rocks both seo and otherwise. Btw civicspace is a community-oriented mod of drupal.
Hi, I offer Joomla support. I looked at your website and there should be no problem to run SEF there. We need 4 working hours to install SEF addon there and configure it for you. Happy New Year to All!!! Best regards Marcin Kierdelewicz
