I am trying to make a banner with MacroMedia Flash 8, and on the first layer, I have 2 people, and when I try and move them (like walking) on the second layer, it does it on the first... Is there something I am not getting? (I think there is) Please help, Thanks

Objects are tied to their layers and cant move form one layer to the other. Layer1 objects will move in layer1 only ..

Its done by motion tweening.. defining a path for the symbol to follow and creating the right movements..

    Ok,
If you want to animate 2 people you can animate them on two different layers. Draw Graphic A on layer1 and Draw Graphic B on layer 2.

Follow these steps to animate them.

    (1) Convert both people to graphic symbols.
    (2) Create motion tween for Graphic A on layer 1
    (3) Create motion tween for Graphic B on layer 2

    Control+Enter to play the movie.

To know about Motion tween start with single layer:

    (1) Create a circle on stage at Frame No.1.
    (2) Select circle and covert it to symbol (key F8).
    (3) Right click at Frame Number 10 and chose Insert Key frame from popup menu.
    (4) Make sure the play head is at Frame No.10 and move the circle on stage to new location.
    (5) Right click in between frame 1 and 10 in timeline and chose "Create Motion Tween option" from popup menu.
If you done everything correct you can see a arrow between Frame NO.1 to Frame NO.10

Ctrl+Enter to check the movie. Your circle should move on stage.:)
