    You have got to think you would add your links to a directory for $0.99 anyway so why not one that gives you the chance to win money back??? Other people that are charging $20-$30 to add links are taking all of the money.

    Not exactly, people that charge that have to invest a lot of the earned money to justify the $20 or $30, so I'd suggest you'd better spend those $1000 promoting your directory and raise the price afterwards... ;)
