This one was the most interesting to me.

It seems clear that the Liberals who act as lapdogs for the Islamist terrorists are responsible for encouraging terrorism by attempting to lead Muslims and Infidels alike into believing that George Bush and the Jews attacked the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon.

Never mind that Osama bin Laden has taken credit for these attacks. Never mind that the conspiracy theories utilize the worst kind of pseudo-science. Hell, they are so bad that even Al Gore can't (at least publicly) make himself believe them. Never mind the thousands of eye-witness accounts to the actual events.

No, the Liberals push this almost faith-baed belief that George Bushh and the Jews attacked the World Trade Centers -- and this propaganda serves only to convince Muslims that further attacks on the free world are justified.

Note that this isn't 25% of Muslims in some Dar al-Islam country. This is right in the middle of Dar al-Harb and the war is going on right now. These people believe that attacks on Western civilization are justified because we attacked them on 9/11. And this is what the Liberals are telling them.

I don't know whether to see the Liberals are clueless tools of the Jihadis, or to see the Jihadi's as clueless tools of the Liberals. Both seem doomed to feed into each others ignorance and paranoia.

Watch klb closely. He all but ignored the post. Powerful stuff that he just can't dismiss with a "the bible says something similar" claim.

What will be interesting is, a week from now, despite overwhelming evidence, he'll be right back to the usual "tiny minority" platitudes again.

Now, if that were Christians or Jews, he'd have no problem remembering ;) Cause the boy can sure remember things Christians (and most especially, Jews) have done. For some reason, islam gives him a temporary loss of cabin pressure!

I believe that KalvinB hit the nail right on the head when he said:

It's not the crazy verses from the Koran that make Muslims look bad.

It's not your and my sharing the truth about Islam that makes Muslims look bad.

It's all of the murdering people that makes Muslims look bad.

If they stopped with the murdering behavior, it would be a lot easier to think of Islam as a civilized religion.

Isn't it hilarous how KLB blames you and I for Islams bad press? The analogy would be blaming you and I for Wayne Williams bad reputation because we called Wayne Williams a child murderer. That sort of bad thinking attempts to totally absolve Wayne for the murders of those twenty-one children. In the same way, that sort of bad thinking attempts to totally absolve the Islamists for all of the murders they commit. After all, it's not the murdering which is bad, it's our talking about it which is bad.

How dare we say such awful things?

I'm sure it's the Jews fault; it's always the Jews fault.

But hold on, I have a final solution to that problem...

As if being aware is the crime. For example, the quran speaks horrible things of Christians and Jews including instructing muslims not to befriend them. In other words, it teaches hatred of others. Yet klb excuses that and attempts to portray anyone aware of it as the ones preaching hatred. Usually followed by a general unsubstantiated moral equivalence claim that there are similar verses in the Bible. The problem is, I'm unaware of any verses in the Bible that instruct "me" to go and kill others or to hate others.

I agree that it is the negative members of any group that make any group look bad, contributing to the stereotype of that group. The number of members of a group that we are aware of who participate in that stereotype, though, are what help to determine how strong, or wide-spread that stereotype is for us.

Most of my friends from the south (somewhere between Louisana and texas) that are Pagans, and dislike Christianity for intolerance, live in areas where rather intolerant branches are the norm. Most of them are surprised to find out that I am a Christian when it comes up, because I tend to accept them for the most part. Although I tend to get rather upset if we're role playing and they set the reality to automatically make Christianity false or glorify demons or the like. And I don't mean glorifying deities they worship. I mean glorifying beings specifically called "Demons" and being called Evil. That's exposure on a personal level that they experienced, and was a negative one. Most of my local friends, Christian or not, have at least an accepting view of Christianity.

The thing is, I don't have any local exposure to people I know are Muslim, but my national and media exposure is primarily to those members of the religion who are violent and blow themselves up and say that I need to die. This tends to cause me to take a rather dim view of Islam. However I recognize other members of Islam in the media that seem peaceful, though the exposure is usually brief and rare, and usually gets the reaction of "Huh. That guy doesn't seem like a murdering nutjob." which gets me to thinking that maybe there are some good Muslims out there, and that maybe the dim view of Muslims that I hold in general, is due to my media exposure to those members of the religion that make the religion look bad. Because I recognize that my view may be biased due to the sensationalism of the news, which is always by nature biased and far from impartial, I try to be a bit more open minded and accepting about claims that the majority of Muslim are peaceful people. Do I believe the claim? Not necessarily. But I don't dismiss it either.

This whole discussion is not about what individual muslims believe. It's about what Islam teaches.

99.999% of Muslims could be peaceful. Doesn't matter. What matters is what Islam teaches. That's what we're trying to determine.

My buddy Ibrahim held a TS-SBI/SCI clearance until his death last year. He dedicated his career to keeping his country (Texas) safe.

My buddy Ahmet attended post-graduate school with the U.S. Navy in California. He's a Democrat, but other than that he's OK.

Everyone is different, but that's not really the point. The point is that certain behaviors are completely unacceptable -- even if your holy book tells you to go do them and your local religious leader tells you to go do them. Islam, as a religion, is way out of control. Islams adherents are regularly and systematically committing acts of violence which are unacceptable in a civilized society. They must be stopped. Civilization must defend itself against barbarism if it intends to survive.

Maybe that is why liberals are so bent on defending the actions - they want the world population to decrease and since some of us are having children and even having more than 2, this is an acceptable alternative to them.

 Why... do you say... that liberals want the world population to decrease?

If that was the case, wouldn't they be fans of war?

Many liberals are for murdering babies (abortion) in wholesale fashion, while totally against killing child molesters and murders. "Kill the babies, but keep the baby killers alive."

Many liberals are against war, but in support of keeping tyrants that mass murder people alive. The war in Iraq is a perfect illustration of this.

Many liberals are for sweeping the crimes of islam and the gencide being committed in it's name in Darfur under the rug, while defending those that commit such horrific acts.

Many liberals defend rogue dictators that brutally murder their people, while condemning the US for taking action against them.

Many liberals want the US to pull out of Iraq, where we are fighting terrorists and training Iraqis to protect their country, so that terrorists can take over the country and continue their murderous ways the way saddam did.

Besides all the points Gtech just listed - liberals want to worship mother earth - tree huggers want less people! They want more concentrated population and land to be left alone and untouched by man. So if their plans for mass-population cities is overpopulated and they don't want the rest of the land touched - what do you do? Kill off babies and then old people, handicapped, retarded, Christian or whatever category deemed unfit to share the air.

    Okaaay.

So what about the large amount of liberal Christians who's programs of interest are about social programs to help the elderly and the young get health care and, in the later case, more education dollars? Are they seeking to kill babies and old people? Are they people wanting to worship mother nature?

To be clear, I'm mostly addressing this to debunked, as GTech has properly qualified his responses with "Many" and I am currently unprepared to address any of his claims as I have yet to do the research necessary to verify that they are correct, or refute his assertions, either of which may turn out to be true, once the aggregate data on proportions is compiled.

Liberal vrs conservative in it's purest form is about how much money and government is desired. In that sense I am a conservative.

However democrats (mostly liberals) and republicans (mostly conservatives) and their various platforms seem to have attached themselves to the terms liberal and conservative.

By money, I think you meant "government money" - which is to say that liberals are generous with other people's money; while conservatives are generous with their own. Charitable donations by R's and D's back this up ;)

Yes, I did indeed mean government money.

And your using statistics about republicans and democrats just goes to show how much 'democrat' and 'republican' seem to have come to be synonyms for 'liberal' and 'conservative' these days.

    Shouldn't be, though.

I like real conservative (for the better part), while I don't trust the politics of a follow the lead Republican.
