Hi people. Please help me, I have questions:

If I for example register a domain maingoogle.com or jupitergoogle.com it's Cybersquatting?? Or for example the domain orkkut.com or altavvista.com??

Some site exists where it can find the registered marks??

Thanks and sorry for my English...

A domain name doesn't automatically mean cybersquatting. The link below is
not authoritative, but it should give you some ideas:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybersquatting

Unfortunately a domain name that bears an especially famous trademark isn't
likely to be ignored by its mark holder.

Ask yourself why you're considering registering the domain name in question.
If your intent includes somehow riding off someone's trademark rights, then do
    expect trouble.

Since already very obliged for the answers!

But what I wanted to know it is if it exists some problem when registering these dominios for example. If these domains were mine, I ran some scratch out of being processed?

Thanks and sorry for my English!

ok so what if i wanted to start a site called microsofthatersclub.com
What would that fall under? Is it legal? Do they have the right to come after me. If a company name is a registered tradeemark can you use the name in a website name. I have a good one i want to start for a pretty big company name, i just dont feel like being sued ya know!! Thanks

    the name Microsoft is trademarked.

If you use a domain that contains or plays off of a trademark, IE micr0s0ft.com (zeros not o's) or microsoftcankissmybehind.com. Expect legal trouble.

expect legal trouble, but find some solace in the fact that domains like ebaysucks.com paypalsucks.com have been found to be legal. I think something like microsofthaters.com would be safe, because no one would reasonably believe that microsoft would create a website with that name.

I do belive that the XXsucks.com sites did go through the legal system to keep their domains.

Now if you're going to be using the microsofthaters.com or what ever expect them to get in contact with you at some point in time or another. While people may not belive that they would register that domain they have an obligation to protect their trademark.

No matter how you swing it you'd be better off leaving it be if you can't afford lawyer's fees.

I agree completely, just because it may be legal to do it, doesn't mean you wont still face legal challenges.
