Hi, I want to run a blog contest for the business schools. Motive is to encourage blogging among Business school students in India. I want to shortlist 25 blog and give it to the panel of judges. How can I Judge the quality of the blog (approx) in the prelim rounds? IMO some ways of judging in the prelim round are:- 1) Total Pages in Google (15 %) 2) Total backlinks in Yahoo (link: - site: ) 25% 3) Through techronati links – 5% 4) Voting – 50% Can I add or delete some factors to it? Thanks, AjiNIMC
This is just an elimination process. #1: Will give you an estimate of total pages under the blog. #2: Will give you an estimate of total links to the domain. Links === popularity
Content will be judged for the top 25 websites (by an experienced panel of Judges). I can't ask them to judge over 100 sites. These factors are for prelims. Can I do some changes, 1) Total Posts so far (25 %) 2) Total backlinks in Yahoo (link: - site: ) 15% 3) Through techronati links – 10% 4) Voting – 50% (in a span of 15 days, voting allowed only for 15 days) Can I add or delete some factors to it? Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks, AjiNIMC
Hi, I think it depends what you are judging. If you are judging marketing/advertising ability (i.e. ability to get friends to link to you, or to buy links, for example), then your criteria is a good place to start. If you want to judge writing/creativity, then your critieria does not really do that. If you want to judge design ability, then criteria has to be set up for that. If you want to judge overall ability, it may just exhaust anyone who wants to joing, unless they have a head start. Trust me, I am going through the process now with links.com, and creating a high quality blog/website is quite an undertaking. Good luck with your contest! Rich
