and I gotta say, Microsoft has done a great job since the beta releases. Beta pissed the crap off of me, and I ended up switching back to XP. Now though, I am already loving it, and it doesn't lagg.

no, they didnt copy mac, they got ideas ;) There are things in vista that are better than mac, and Apple is copying, like Aero for example.

I haven't seen Mac copy anything from Windows, only the opposite. I've tried both and Mac's are very impressive with new ideas all the time.

Have you looked at the next version? No doubt that Microsoft will copy these too:

Cool, what's your system spec? Do you have the recommended 1GB RAM?

What sort of video card are you running?

I think it's very difficult to obtain a working pirated copy of Vista, with all the copy protection MS has incorporated

^^for every one person m$ got working on anti-piracy measures, I'd guess theres 1000 people reverse enginerring it, it's only a matter of time before the latter win, not that I'm advocating it, it's fact that anything ms has at thier disposal the worlds got a thousand times more collectively, the only thing we lack is the source code, but thats no big deal really it never stopped anyone with xp...

I'd like to see some system specs and the rating for the pc, last time I installed RC1 on a £1200 machine it gave it a crap rating and was slower to start than windows 95......

Actually, this copy of RTM is genuine, but not genuine. It runs at a time-trial base which was frozen using software.

Compared to XP, windows vista is just a tad bit slower.

As for ram, I am only using 512 mb of ram.

My video hard is a 256mb Radeon 9550. (cost me $250 a few months ago )

My processor is pentium 4 running at 1.6

It's not a great computer, but runs everything at better than minimum.

One great thing about vista is you don't need Anti-Virus :) Windows warns you every time a program wants access to something else, no matter what it is. ie. a torrent wants to run with bittorent, it asks you if you want that to be allowed, and whether to allow it in the future.

    Vista is great ;)

So Microsoft have finally managed to produce an GUI that compares to what apple have had for years. no news there. What does Vista have that would motivate an upgrade? After you've sat marvelling at the graphic quality, what will your hard earned dollar get you from an upgrade? I've already heard that some of the security problems that were never fixed in XP seem to have magically reappeared in Vista. Microsoft have never been industry leaders, and probably never will. At least Microsoft allow me the opportunity to chuckle about friends who still use Microsoft and seem to be endlessly plagued with problems.

    I disagree
I would agree that some of the interface was borrowed from a Mac (I use one), but there is very little borrowed from Linux

They all have their strengths and weaknesses

I think we all know which have the strengths and which have the weaknesses.
