i have a bunch of minor affiliate sites up...and my earnings (affiliate sales) are...ugh...well...not that great so far. Yesterday i submitted my RPT tool store to 50-80 directories tho.. ...so i expect some PR and maybe more traffic. I installed AdSense literally a few HOURS ago on my site....and i am baffled since i was checking google just out of boredom..and i made a little SALE already thru AdSense !! I am baffled since i am signed up at CJ, clickbank and zillion of other affiliates....and all the click-programs on other sites didnt give me one DIME...and AdSense already after literally hours. Now i just need more TRAFFIC.... Something in addition: I have a small problem on my PWT site...since i dont know how i should balance the advantage of having AdSense...and the DISadvantage that there are links to competitors. So..i am basically wanting to sell used tools...how good is it if people find links to other stores on the adsense ads ? I know google has a competitor-filter....but if i'd to filter out all/most competitors....then what ads should there be left ? I dont know how i should handle this...."risk" the competitors showing up...and then have a chance for sales through adsense....or limit competitors and get LESS sales through adsense ? It would be a different story if i wouldnt sell something on my site tho...
you got it all wrong buddy Affiliate programs give you money after someone clicked on their ad on your site and BUY whatever they are selling Adsense DOESN'T SELL ANYTHING. You get paid for every single click on the advert. That's why you started to earn money so quickly. Adsense doesn't allow using other targeted ads (like clicksor, YPN for example) but as far as I know they don't mind you linking to other stores. Again, Adsense doesn't sell anything, it just advertises other sites
yes i understood. the general opinion is directories are good for PR rather than traffic. But it still wont hurt
i know that. i was just stating my excitement that i saw something happening HOURS after i installed adsense....so zillions of people cant be wrong And yeah..i am overwhelmed reading in this forum (my new passion right now: DP forum of people making $4K/month of adsense ALONE. I know those are extremes....but i am passionate and i learn a lot here.

Directories are good. .... some. Look for the good ones and pay. I get good directory traffic for the new site that i have and i make money from linkshare constantly. Its a new site so search engines are not helping yet.
