phpLD Problem

    version - PhpLD v2.1 free

    Yesterday I d tried to install it and s been given this error msg -

    folder is already set to 777 , i checked it even in Cpanel its set to 777

    Only for temp folder other folders and files ok

    posted in their support froum too

    -----

    oh i think I ve posted this in wrong froum , hope mods would move this to Directories forum

    It's really easy to install phpld,did you follow the steps written in the "readme.txt" file?

    I think your have to create 3 folders too and then set them to 777. Read the readme.txt file and follow the steps, you won't have any problems.

    Did you check error logs from cpanel to see which file/folder is giving errors if any.

    yes i did follow all the steps in "install.txt" [there's no readme but install.txt in this version]:)

    Well i did set all the files and folders which asked in install.txt to 777

    - include/config.php
    - temp/
    - temp/adodb
    - temp/cache
    - temp/templates


    Checked nothing about this matter no errors about files or folders. except File does not exist error about index.php and 404.shtml which happened yesterday.

    Are you using cpanel to set permissions or ftp client? But you said you used cpanel to check folder permissions right?

    first i did it by FTP client then i went to cpanel and checked the FTP maneger and the folder was already set to 777.


    but thx everyone :) , FOX LORE helped me to set it. though still i have no idea what went wrong first time.

    well you did a new install into a folder under the domain name. But one i had problems was in a subdomain belongs to the same domain. wut i liked to know was what went wrong there. while i d posted this thread i was installing phpLD in few domains all worked fine except one in thsi subdomain.
