Wow . . . there are a fair number of us who have sites that been around for 11 or more years. I have no idea what the original server software was back then. My site was hosted at an ISP called Mindlink and WAIS was bigger than the web. Prior to the web I ran my site on a BBS system, using eSofts' TDBS and TBBS modules and a UUCP module for email. The UUCP module exchanged mail, but I had to write a program in xBase to create the full email including headers. We used that to distribute email messages to the very few clients trying out the new fangled technology.

My site has otherwise been run on Apache on Linux. Once we outgrew being part of a box, we moved the site to Apache on Windows NT box with a $185 per month DSL connection. Then an year renting dedicated servers and back to business DSL for just $85 per month.

Page Rank is all about back links and the site is PR5. Even so, it often makes page one of search results at Google and MSN for the types of terms people use to search the topic area. The site serves over 20,000 single article views per day -- this is not counting graphics or menu type pages. On December 13 there 1586 unique visitors and on December 14 there were 1612 unique visitors.

Cool. I guess after Dreamwaver and other software, a new wave of "webmaster" came along. Before that, we were studying HTML codes, then JAVA code, then PHP codes and so on (at least for me).
I still make website "by heart" using notepad, like all of us pre-HTML software...

Personally I don’t use Dreamweaver for creating sites only for looking at HTML and PHP code :D To be honest I don’t even know how to create a site using Dreamweaver. I don’t know any PHP but am working on it, maybe in a few months you guys will see a script made by Emperor :D

25.11.1997 on Geocities, after that on Freeservers, the site is still alive but with 4 changes of domains/addresses. Finally it's been www.ploce.com.hr for about 4 years...
