DonutHost is now offering proxy hosting again! In the past we did not allow proxies, now after determining the state of the technology available today we have decided to host proxies again! We have all sorts of exterience with running a proxy, from the bandwidth involved to customizing and skinning the script. So DonutHost would like to offer our Proxy Package: 1 GB of space and 50GB of bandwidth for only $8.00 a month! As an additional bonus, we will install your preferred proxy software for you free! Our server: Dual dual Xeon 5130 CentOS 4.4 cPanel 10.9.0-R95 PHP 4.4.4 MySQL 4.1.21-standard If you interested in this package please feel free to PM us or use any of the messengers listed in the profile. Thanks, DonutHost
It's shared hosting, what do you mean how much RAM? How much RAM you get? How much RAM on server? As many as you can fit without making us mad. Be reasonable when you put them on
shared hosting? it has no chance of surviving unless the proxy is php and your getting less then 1k hits a day
Is it 50GB bandwith repoterd by CPanel? Do have any means to calculate the actual bandwidth used, as CPanel will only report half of the bandwith actually used. Apache only logs bandwith for data which the proxy send to the browser, not the bandwith for the data proxy fetches from from the origin server. How will you manage it? Which proxy softwares (proxy scripts?) do you support? Will you provide it with a custom design/template? How many proxy sites will you host on a single server? Will there be any non-proxy sites on the server too? - Zulu
We will not design a custom template for you, its not like its $300/month hosting that you should get extras for. We will install CGIProxy, PHProxy, PHPProxy, or any other that you point us to. There will be at most 8 accounts per server.
I am not saying that i should get extras. Probably, I quoted the wrong part of your post. I was actually pointing to this: customizing and skinning -> I thought you were going to customize and skin the script too. 8 accounts with 50GB will consume 400GB, but a xeon server usually comes with 2000GB bandwidth. Where the rest of the BW will go? Also 8 accounts will not even cover the base server charges ($64/m for dual xeon? We can hardly get a cheap celeron for this). Its quite confusing Am I missing something? - Zulu
Just saying we know how to customize and skin. Remember how you pointed out that Apache doesnt measure inbound bandwidth for cPanel? 400x2 = 800GB.
I need the following 2GB Space 300GB Bandwidth cPanel I can pay upto $30 / month for this. PM me please.
