Who cares, there are intelligent people from around the globe, intelligent people do not a great country make. There have been incredible inventions sparked and brought to life by almost every country, great inventions do not a country make. There are wealthy people, and there are poverty stricken people in every country, do you think that they care whether they go hungry in the US or in Romania? The internet has been an incredible tool in bridging the gap between the freedoms of the USA and the rest of the world, it's brought people from every walk of life together in forums like these to discuss how to make the internet an even better place. Globalization is in the future, and sitting around talking about who's country is the best is just silly, when in fact it's not the country that makes a great country, it's it's peoples willingness to learn and to grow that make the country a great country, so the greatest country in the world isn't even in the physical world any more, it's now hosted in cyberspace, and we're all a part of it.
i doubt any country's leader will allow himself rank #1 for miserable failure that's the freedom we have.
The directional flow of people says it all. Look at the legal and illegal immigrants. Compare that to those choosing to leave the USA. People by the millions are voting with their feet for America.
Jessecooper, can I just say you are the most witty and intelligent person I've ever seen. Having a poll with only positive results - genius. America is not the best country though is it. Fattest nation in the world and the biggest consumer of resources. Wish I lived there
America would have a tough time ranking as number one in the world in any category unless it were only Americans voting. Quality of life is definitely higher then many nations, but in a country as bountiful as the US, 1 in 6 children still live in abject poverty.
No,no,no. You can't take one example to judge something. 1 on 6. What about India, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Mozam...and more... Overall, and keeping in mind it is a very new country, it is ahead of lots of things....
well that depends on your definition of abject poverty. Sometimes poor in this country still means you get cable t.v. in your gov. housing. I can also say be careful of who gives your statistics, because someone could easily go to a very very poor city and pick out 6 children, if one is in poverty then you can honestly say there is 1 in 6 kids in poverty even though in reality it is not true. The sample is Flawed.
You mean Jaree lives there I dont like US and i dont hate it either but i love Houston nothing very cool there but i have very good relations with loooot of people and when i go out somewhere i atleast meet few people who are first to say Hi to me and that is cool
I never understood why everyone thinks america is so rich. I really do not like people who sit over in other countries calling all of us rich; how we have all the cars, hottubs, women, and drugs that we want. heh, maybe from the movies I guess.
