Whether you get a big YES or a big NO from our great community here at DP, that's not relevant.

Send an email to Google directly, tell them you have this site and you want to make sure this particular placement is okay. If it is great, use it and stay quiet about it.

Try to refrain from posting gray-area-like things referring back to your site in public because if a flame war starts, Google is going to be forced to respond.

Email them directly, follow their directions and be quiet about it.

Hey, don't contact them with that picture, can't you read? There is no border between ads and images and what is even more important, images are directly relevant with ads -> NO for sure.

    Read this for more...

This violates the Adsense program policies, the images serve no purpose other than to draw attention to your leaderboard. You have intentionally placed images so that they align with each ad in your ad unit to help improve your CTR. This is in no way compliant.

Ask yourself this question; would those images be there if you didn't use Adsense? I doubt it.

    That's a definite no-no..

What I don't understand is even after the policy update from a few days ago (with picture examples mind you), some people still think pictures next to ads are acceptable.

I was using a background image with an ad on top of it (site in my sig) and I wasn't sure if that was still acceptable because there was no mention of bg images on that policy change. I e-mailed Google and they said that particular one was alright.

If you really want to know if your paint ball images and banner are acceptable, e-mail Google and ask. But IMO (and the majority here), it's not.

E-mail google a screenshot of your site with this placement and see what they say. But according to the blog posting, no images aligned with ads are allowed any longer. Only google can make the call...

lol wow you guys are pretty harsh.

I photoshopped that image FYI. I wanted to see what you all thought about it first.

I'll email them and see what the deal is.

    No I never learned

Honestly, I think I would. They still do serve a purpose. I still use them now even without google ads. It sort of sets the theme for the site. But I know what you're saying, and I'm sure it's more detrimental to Google keeping them there than it is by taking them away

If you had a single image (like some sort of banner) then maybe you could get away with it. However, having 4 images that perfectly align with each ad in a leaderboard is just asking for trouble ;)

No, don't try to play with them. They are like Big Brother see everything and react when nobody thinks that they will. ;)

Point taken. And yea I understand how it's very borderline so I'm not going to use it... I just didn't know if I should even both emailing adsense regarding the matter. I won't be wasting their time :)

Nice interview with Lasoya btw :)
