I read that Gen Z isn't all that excited about AI, especially AI generated videos and that they're gravitating toward real, authentic content instead. Just the other day my daughter (she's 14) while watching TV said: "I hate AI. It makes me feel like someone's lying to me." Personally, I have a hard time watching anything if I suspect it’s AI generated. I'm starting to wonder how widespread this is. People seem to be craving authenticity and that's one thing AI will never be able to give us. Y'all feeling the same?
I'm gen z and I hate AI slop. But I understand that's just the nature of the web now. Might as well use AI for growing a business, right? Either adapt or become obsolete. Never been easier to make moolahs than any other time in human history so for that reason I'm grateful.
True. I use it all the time for coding, but when it comes to videos (especially the low-effort slop ones), it was hilarious and mind-blowing at first. Now that the initial "wow, AI is crazy powerful" shock has worn off, it just feels kinda pointless.
AI is a tool that humans have created, as we have done throughout our history. When the first hammers were invented, I am sure that there were good ones, less good ones, etc. However, productivity was greatly advanced by the tool. No different with AI, though the potential for getting more work done with this tool is higher than ever. Any generation that neglects to learn how to use and benefit from this tool will suffer.
Hey, if you were 20 and AI powered robots were absolutely everywhere, would you marry one of those ridiculously hot AI chicks just to enjoy all the sweet benefits?
I suppose that this has the potential to change social dynamics among the young. I recall a common joke when I was a young man: the perfect woman has sex with you and then turns into a pizza and your two best friends.
