hi there, I believe this is the right section to talk about general business issues.

I am terribly worried since I lost 90% of my customers with the COVID-19 pandemic, so do you guys think we are in the way to have a similar/bigger pandemic with the Andes Virus (ANDV-26) / Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS-26) going to happen? please vote :)

During covid people entering NZ had to go into quarantine for 2 weeks - put up in a nice hotel, allowed out for walks and yoga etc - and people thought that was bad. On the news last night, they said that the ship's passengers would have 2 MONTHS of quarantine. Now that will make everyone cautious!

I think that what you are asking is whether we will have to again suffer the nonsensical lockdowns, masks, social distancing, nonstop vaccinations, etc., that decimated your (and many others') customer base. I think not. It is too soon for even the low information types to forget how stupid and ineffective it all was. I'll also add that I have never gone on a cruise (primarily due to my proclivity for motion sickness) but these stories of being trapped inside a tin can with a few thousand other infected humans for weeks or months makes it even less likely that I ever will.

The problem seems to be that the german widow who was flying her husband's body home was in a different kind of tin can for 5 hours before getting symptoms. And the people from those flights have now scattered across the globe...

But you're right, the horror stories from cruises about bugs and the human waste in the carpets etc and the SA of passengers. It's not appealing.

In the US, everyone’s so worn out from the last one and from life in general (the sucky economy) that most people, at least in our state, don’t give a flying crap about any of that.

One other thing to consider: the hantavirus infecting these cruise ship passengers is caught by humans when they inhale rat droppings. They did have a field trip that got them off the ship, but are there rats on the ship, too?

There are around 50 different strains of hantavirus. One of those strains (Andes) can be passed from human to human which is the strain on this cruise ship - it was most likly caught during a land excursion in Argentina. Its apparently hard to transmit, so is only transmitted with a lot of close contact.
