Hey everyone, I wanted to share the core principle that honestly keeps me afloat. If you're a freelancer, you know the biggest challenge isn't competition or the market - it’s you. Your greatest threat is self-stagnation. The Survival Formula: The Foundation: My daily philosophy is simple: "My Tomorrow Is My Today." It means if I relax now, I pay for it later. The Pivot Rule: Never get comfortable. Always push your current niche for a new unique value proposition (UVP) first. Only when you hit that ceiling should you launch the next, unrelated project. This is your financial defense mechanism. The Proof: This works because the profit from those difficult new projects always came in just in time to cover the income loss from my older, shrinking services. It’s calculated survival, not luck! Your Mental Anchor We have to be realistic: The beginning is always harder and requires more patience than you think. When things get toughest, don’t rely on blind faith. Use your past successes - the specific times you got results through effort - as your anchor and proof that consistency pays off. That positive experience is your mental anchor. P.S. My full motto is "My tomorrow is my today and my today is my yesterday." What simple truth keeps you motivated on the hardest days? I’d genuinely love to hear your single best philosophy. If you agree, drop a like
Fair point on the style. English isn't my first language, so I use tools to help translate and structure my mess of thoughts into something readable. The grammar might be AI, but the burnout and the lessons from my employ years of freelancing are 100% mine. Do you have actual advice on the topic, or just critique on the format?)
Yeah, that doesn't make any sense to me. Your basing your entire life on a "Calculated Survival Formula"? A "simple truth" is "Do What You Love and You'll Never Have To Work Very Hard!" Meaning you won't have to worry about keeping up, creating new ideas, calculating time to spend with family and friends, etc. I do agree with "Your greatest threat is self!" Because your only competition in life is YOU! Self-talk being the worst. Others can talk about you all day long but if you don't care what they say then it doesn't matter. It's what you say to yourself, positive or negative, that's the problem. Another "Simple Truth" would be "Be A Better YOU!" Isn't that what's it's all about anyway??? Your way seems to eventually lead to burnout, health problems, broken relationships and more all to keep up with something that moves a heck of a lot faster than you do. Ahh anyway what do I know...
I think we see this differently. It's not about living in fear or burnout. Actually opposite - it gives me peace of mind. "Do what you love" sounds nice, but market doesnt care what we love. It cares about value. Relying only on passion = instability. My formula isnt a cage, its a safety net. It lets me chill with family without worrying about next paycheck, because i planned for it. Its not about being harsh. Its just about not getting complacent. Structure dont bind your hands - it just saves you from mistakes that steal your future time.
I apply this rule to every area of my life, or at least I try. Little efforts today will certainly pay off tomorrow)
It's nice to see that there are like-minded people, especially if they are poor in one country. Good Luck!
