Posting on review sites like Trustpilot, Capterra, or ListAndFuse isn't just about reputation — it's also a smart way to get high-authority backlinks and boost trust signals. Some of these platforms allow dofollow or indexed links to your site, and Google clearly uses them as part of E-E-A-T and brand signals. Anyone here actively using review platforms in their link strategies? Which ones have actually moved the needle for you? Would love to trade notes.
Grok says not to do that: If everyone starts posting on high-authority sites, the backlinks from those sites will lose their authoritative value over time. Search engine algorithms, powered by AI, will quickly detect this pattern and adjust, reducing the weight of those links due to decreased selectivity and potential drops in content quality.
We actively use google reviews - and request all our actual customers leave a review. We don't operate in the US so our customers would find it odd to be asked to leave a review on those sites, it's hard enough to get a review on google without asking them to do something on a website they've never heard of. But if you're talking about FAKE reviews - don't do it, especially if your product or service is expensive. Customers do do their due diligence.
My family business, that I do the internet stuff for, doesn't operate in the USA therefore sites like yours and Trustpilot are irrelevant.
Yes, review platforms can definitely play a role in SEO — not just for backlinks, but for brand credibility and trust signals. Platforms like Trustpilot, Capterra, and G2 have very high domain authority, so even if the links are nofollow, they still help strengthen your brand entity in Google’s eyes. They often appear in Knowledge Panels and brand searches, which improves visibility and trust. From experience, I’ve seen Capterra and G2 listings help B2B SaaS sites the most, while Trustpilot and SiteJabber work better for e-commerce and service-based businesses. The key is to actively collect authentic reviews — Google seems to pick up on consistent sentiment and activity across these platforms. It’s not a direct ranking hack, but it contributes to your overall authority and E-E-A-T profile, especially when combined with strong content and a clean backlink profile.
Well we appreciate you extravagant use of bold text to make sure we don't miss your key points. Most people struggle to correct typos and don't go the extra mile.
Trustpilot ratings and it's on page tool can completely change your business. I highly recommend off-page review sites 100%. I also think long term that's the way to go. No buyers are going to look at your backlink profile. The review sites bring business, credibility, and SEO.
I agree that review sites can really boost credibility and SEO. One thing I’ve noticed specifically with Trustpilot, though, is that it’s surprisingly hard to get positive reviews published. Honest positive feedback often gets delayed or rejected, while critical reviews go up more easily. So while review platforms are definitely valuable long-term, you have to be prepared for some friction when it comes to actually getting your good reviews live.
