I would like a few honest people to review my latest creation, http://milliondollartextlink.com. You can review anything from the design to the system. Whatever you feel, please tell me. I am open to all suggestions. Thank you.

The system looks good, the offer about the most frequent buyers getting money looks very attractive right now while the links are cheap...

The links will probably always stay the same price. If they raise it will be for a good reason and they wont go up that much. The whole idea is to make this a game everyone can play. $10 isn't going to empty the pockets of many webmasters. The only thing you can do to get more exposure to your site is to keep replacing the link with your own when it changes.

The system I have of giving away stuff will only get bigger. I plan on giving away ipods, computers etc. daily once this thing takes off. I will hold random contests like "next person to buy this link wins an ipod" and I will really send them an ipod.

Im not a greedy person. I don't want $1,000,000, I really just wanna go to college and greatly give back to the people helping me pay for it.

I beleive when I hit $1000, those three lucky people will make out like bandits because they will have only paid like $40 bucks and will end up getting $100-$200 back.

Thanks for your time & thoughts.

I think you should make it so that the advertised link is displayed above the fold.

Yeah Ive been meaning to figure that out. Maybe I will just have a link at the top of the page that leads to the quick introduction I have on there now. Maybe like "First Time Visitor? Check out this page!"

Ok, i'm going to be real honest, just don't take it personal ;) :

    1) First of all, the link is far more important than the description, therefore it should be the first thing visitors see.

    2) The description just screams "You're going to help me make money quickly !!!". You claim that your buyers will get quality traffic, but where does your traffic come from? and i don't think the "send five brothers to college" is working there. Sure, you were joking, but you shouldn't use humor when there's money involved. It indirectly underestimates serious investor's intelligence.

    3) Why is there a "Press" section when there's nothing published yet about your site? it just makes the navigation more crowded.

    4) My god!!! a "bookmark" link? and in the main navigation??? that's 90's stuff. If i wanted to bookmark your web site, i wouldn't look for a link to do it for me, and i won't bookmark unless i wanted to anyway, so asking your users to bookmark your site won't make a difference.

    5) "About" should be called "FAQ", because that's what it is.

    6) Use a short yet comprehensive description. If you really need to write a lot about your site, then write a short description followed with a "read more" link.

    7) I suggest you change the font of your header. It makes you look like you're trying to mimic the million dollar home page. Use a different font to give your site a unique personality.

    Hope this helps :)

    1) I already stated I will change this as the link is definitely more important than anything else.

    2) I guess I will go more in depth with how they will recieve traffic and how I will be advertising this site. I don't know what to say about the college thing. My single mother is a high school teacher with five boys. She makes, well teacher wages and obviously that's not going to pay for five four-year degrees. It's hard enough just paying for my older brother to go. He's a sophmore at a university that costs $42,000/year.

    3) I put the press section in there now so people can understand if they plug my site on their site or blog they can recieve a link on that page.

    4) I suppose I can remove the bookmark link. I saw it on http://linkexperiment.com and thought maybe it could help.

    5) I have been meaning to change this. Good looking out.

    6) I will try and implement this into the longer sets of text on my site.

    7) Im not sure what you are saying. This is not the same font as the milliondollarhomepage.com. I will fish through some more fonts I have an see if I can come up with something more unique. The font I have now is actually the font used for the game show "The Price is Right"

I believe I have everything understood except maybe #2. What would you suggest I talk about in this introduction text. Maybe I should use a more serious approach and talk about how the link will benefit the customer more in depth?

    Thank you for your review.

A nice looking site and a nice idea. What happens if I pay for a link and it gets booted off right away? Does it go to another page somewhere? Where is the traffic from? Just how are you going to provide me value for money? I'm not bothered about an Ipod, I had one and it kept breaking, now Apple won't repair it anymore unless I pay them.

    regards

    Jean

If you buy the link and it gets replaced right away then you take the link back. The more you put in, the more you get out. That's why the top 3 customers will be turning easy profits from this site.

Traffic will come from my own advertising campaigns. This will include banner advertising on other sites, mostly relating to webmasters and marketing. Press releases and word of mouth lead to strong viral effects for these types of sites. Obviously traffic will be slow at the beginning, but thats why I am giving so much of my earnings away. The few people that take advantage of the early giveaways will rake in some easy cash. I would like to eventually get to the point where I can give away computers.

I want people to realize that they have the potential to earn thousands of dollars doing practically nothing. The few people that actually take advantage of this system will make out like bandits.

    Thank you for your review.

I have made a few changes already based on others' opinions.

Oh, you were talking about your brothers. Sorry, i thought you were telling people they could make so much money that they can send 4 brothers to college

Well, as you said, you should talk about how it will benefit the customer. Visitors most likely won't be interested in your life and what you plan to do with the money, they're just interest in their investment (at least in capitalist countries).

I pretty much listened to every suggestion from this thread and changed my site accordingly. I rewrote the homepage text and made the link more of the focus.

I was thinking of doing that. I plan on adding that feature once the site starts to take off. I haven't really lauched it per say so once I start my advertising campaign and traffic picks up I can add it. Thanks.

Honestly !, dont get me wrong, but why would I want to place a link on your page when there are far more valuable and trafficked sites which will show my link continuosly for a longer and definite period of time ? Your idea maybe unique but I am not sure it is going to work.
