    Hello!
    I was thinking about directories..
if i have a directory that is PR 5 for example,
and i allow Free submission to all websites.. what will happen then ?
will my PR goes down and those websites goes up ?
or my directory PR won't be affected because of hundreds of websites listed in my directory ?

thanks for your reply in advance
    ;)

Once you achieve a certain pr that pr will not go down unless you lose the backlinks that made it whatever pr you have. Adding listings will not affect your pr so you are safe there.

    You can lose internal PR!
Ever wondered why so many directories have PR5 homepage and only PR0 inside.

I'll have to disagree on this one. The only reason you would loose internal pr on your pages, is if you stop pointing links to them from the home page, or any other page that was linked to it. Also if those pages become deindexed some how that could also cause the problem.

But for the most part as long as you link to the inner pages from your homepage then those pages should keep there pr. I would also recommend that you point some deep links to those inner pages as well, this will also help maintain your pr.

I've got a domain with a PR4 homepage and while secondary pages are both linked to and indexed -- they have a PR0. Any ideas as to why this would be?

How long have you had the site? What is the site so I can take a look at it.

Outbounds links dont affect your own PR.. unless ur linking to black sector sites in which case it will take you down to the black sector :p

In my view adding links to your directory on a regular basis is actually good for your directory. As most know google loves new content, so technically if your regularly approving submissions then your adding new content to your pages and hence making google happy. This obviously means more indexing as well as potentially higher SERPs and PR ranking (although i wouldnt imagine it would make a visable difference to your PR ranking). As banless so rightly mentioned your PR will obviously only go so high based on your backlinks (unless you have killer content) so regular adding and building more backlinks is a good idea!!!
