In Photoshop, there are many ways to remove background. It's personal preference what method you like, sometimes we need to use multiple methods to cut out the subject from the busy background.
To remove the background using Photoshop, you can follow these steps: 1. Open Photoshop and load the image you want to edit. 2. Select the "Magic Wand Tool" from the toolbar on the left side of the screen. If you don't see it, right-click the "Quick Selection Tool" and choose the "Magic Wand Tool" from the dropdown menu. 3. With the Magic Wand Tool selected, click on the background area you want to remove. This tool selects pixels with similar colors based on your set tolerance level. You may need to adjust the tolerance level in the top options bar to ensure accurate selection. 4. Once you have selected it, you can refine it using the "Select" menu at the top. Choose "Refine Edge" or "Select and Mask" to access more advanced options for fine-tuning the selection. These tools allow you to smooth the edges, remove unwanted areas, and adjust the overall selection. 5. After refining the selection, you can create a new layer with a transparent background by pressing Ctrl+J (Windows) or Cmd+J (Mac). This will duplicate the selected area onto a new layer. 6. Hide or delete the original background layer to see the transparent background. 7. If necessary, use the eraser tool or layer masks to refine the edges or remove unwanted elements. 8. Once satisfied with the result, save the image as a file format that supports transparency, such as PNG or TIFF. These steps should help you remove the background using Photoshop. Remember to experiment with different tools and options to achieve the best results for your specific image.
Canva has that feature, remove BG, also if you're using your phone, and you need to remove BG quickly, you can use Fotor app, really amazing and quick!
Canva has a dedicated tab for BG removal, works very well. Flagship phones like Zflip or fold have this feature too, photoshop is not required for this.
Nice breakdown, clean and easy to follow. Personally, I usually go with Select > Subject + Select and Mask for more complex edges, especially with hair or semi-transparent stuff. But yeah, Magic Wand still gets the job done in the right scenarios. Good post.
