If you are interested in human nature; there is a science called psychology that you can study and it is much more useful than 2000 years old story book with not very good stories. ;)

There are also some men who try to miss convey Islam’s message like you have mentioned above. You can't account their actions towards Islam or towards Muslims.

Ahmed Deedat was world renounce scholar; his authority on both Islam and Christianity was accepted by both sides. http://www.answers.com/topic/ahmed-deedat

Second he did not say anything out of the air in that video. He used specific references from bible in that debate. He explains them too. If you simply don’t want to admit that then it’s totally up to you but I’m pretty much sure that you agrees on what he said in that video within yourself. Just trying to be stubborn now, I can’t respond to that.

Now come to the Women rights part. What makes you think that woman is man’s property in Islam? Can you give me some examples of it?

If women are property of MAN in Islam and they are treated badly or like a dog, then why the rate of crime against women in single country like US is is way much higher than crime against women in all the Muslim countries combined? Rape alone is so common there that majority of the cases don’t get reported at all.

Here is the link from the US Bureau of Justice. http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/ these statistics are for the one which got reported, majority don’t even bother to report them. One more link http://www.now.org/issues/violence/stats.html

This is an interesting part in the report:

SEXUAL ASSAULT. Every year approximately 132,000 women report that they have been victims of rape or attempted rape, and more than half of them knew their attackers. It's estimated that two to six times that many women are raped, but do not report it. Every year 1.2 million women are forcibly raped by their current or former male partners, some more than once.

THE TARGETS. Women are 10 times more likely than men to be victimized by an intimate. Young women, women who are separated, divorced or single, low- income women and African-American women are disproportionately victims of assault and rape. Domestic violence rates are five times higher among families below poverty levels, and severe spouse abuse is twice as likely to be committed by unemployed men as by those working full time.

It proves the point that it is more related to social conditions than any religion.

KLB was kind enough to find this gem

In Islamic countries women who are raped are put to death. Makes it very unlikely they'll report it don't you think?

If what he says is contrary to the Bible then his views are irrelavent. A lot of people think Mr M was a prophet. That doesn't make him any more credible. Your authority is not based on your fan base. It's based on your knowledge of facts. And if Mr M thinks that women are property then he's not the type of person I would trust with my eternal life.

Your eternal life and everybody else's consists of taking out all the fluid from your body and filling it with chemicals, so you will look good as a corpse unless you are Sikh which you will be burned or if you are Muslim which your eternal life is going to be as a source of food for worms and other insects. ;)

Something that everyone should realize is that Christians are like every other human: sinful. Not a single person on this earth right now is perfect and sinless. Christians curse, Christians rape women, Christians rape men, Christians are lesbians, Christians are gay, Christians kill people. Just like as any other human, they sin and fall short of the glory of God.

So what makes a Christian different? That's the point of being a Christian. Being Christ-like. While Christians can strive to be the best they possibly can to live for what Christ has displayed in history, it's still very hard for Christians to live the perfect life because it's impossible to obtain.

While maybe the most "perfect" human can look amazing, there are still problems and sins in their life. Jesus is the only person in this world that has ever lived a perfect life.

God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus are all as one because Jesus is God's son -- His only son.

Christians aim to be more Christ-like every day to be a living example of what it means to be a better human. Christians are held to higher standards because that is how Christ lived.

    That quote came from here:

    http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/humanrelations/womeninislam/womenquransunnah.html

You can Google "The best property a man can have is a remembering tongue" and a number of references to it show up. Apparently Muslims have a hard time figuring out that calling women property is a bad thing because there is no apology given whenever the quote is used. It's always used in a positive context trying to say that Islam treats women well.

I looked at that page and let's see of the quotes:

and from all the above you took out the word property and women out of the context to fuel your racist hates. I do not care about religion one way or another but you are giving Christians a bad name, just join your local KKK club and stop pretending.

You forgot to mention many other saying from the Prophent Muhammad (PBUH) on that page. There are many other sayings on that page too, try to read it first. I have mentioned couple of them above.

Now about the word property; it got miss translated here. The translator should have used the word asset, which still don't define the Arabic word but it closer in meaning that the word property.

For example: If you work in a company and your boss wants to spread a good word about you, he would probably say that “KalvinB is a very hard working employee, he is a great asset to the company.” He won’t say that “KalvinB is a very hard working employee; he is a property of the company.” See the difference just one word can make into the whole meaning of a sentence. Actual Arabic word used in that saying from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has far greater meanings, English language simply don’t have a word in it to exactly portray that meaning. The word “asset” best suits it here not the word “property”.

And read the whole page http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/humanrelations/womeninislam/womenquransunnah.html about the women’s right. And then look at the domestic violence statistics page against women in USA i've posted in my last post.

You can talk about loving your wife and all that but in the end if you call her "property" or an "asset" you now have to re evaluate everything else in the context of you objectifying your wife as being an "asset" or "property."

Loving an asset is a lot different than loving someone who is your equal in every way.

You are a garment for your pet and your pet is a garment for you. You can talk about love all you want but now we find out that it's all in the context of loving a pet. None of the previous sayings bring your pet to the level of a human being.

I don't know about you but my wife is not my employee. An employee is not equal to the company which hired them.

So now you've just gone and made it worse by calling wives an asset, an employee. Employees can be fired. I don't know about you but there is no husband/wife relationship between me and my employer. If that's the kind of relationship you think a husband and wife should have then you should never subject a woman to being your wife.

I can't imagine there are too many women who have any self esteem at all that would listen to a man go on and on about how much they love them and then in the end, call her his property without slapping him and leaving.

Rather than realizing Islam expects men to objectify women, gworld would rather accuse people of being racist. I guess gworld doesn't have much respect for women either.

You're going to have to convince me that calling women property or an asset puts women on the same level as men.

The meaning of "love" depends entirely on the context in which you view what you're claiming to "love."

Apparently Mr M loves women like he loves all his other property. That's not the kind of love a husband should have for his wife.

That's what you and gworld aren't getting. If you can't see the problem with what Mr M said then you are hopeless. What Mr M said was not a compliment and it put everything else he said into a context that is not appropriate to say to a woman.

    Let's look at the quote:

It say the world, the whole of it, so doesn't this include friends, children, pets,....? Does this mean that a Muslim man sees his other male friends or his sons as property too and according to you other men are not equal to him?

Does this mean that any Muslim man is the property of other Muslims and not equal to them?

Your "interpretation" of that quote if you can even call it that (more of a misquote to justify your racism) makes no sense and you have only taken some words out of context to justify your hatred in the name of religion and respect for women.
