Attention:directory onwers ban these sites

This is the ip that has to be banned (

74.52.87.194 ( some one from this site daily submits more than 10 sites to my paid directory)

also time last he submitted 05:37:22(GMT=PST+8)

the spammer is from

TEXAS
DALLAS
THEPLANET.COM INTERNET SERVICES INC( it is the ISP used by him or it may be a internet cafe)
USA

he thinks that we will approve his sites!

I haven't seen submits from this IP yet, but thanks for the heads-up.

 

Here are the main ips that spam my directory - they appear submitted in html format (as though from forums or something) - totally automated and very annoying - mainly regarding stock or viagra!!!

I think its about time to start a website that lists ips and domains that should be banned from your directory... if the same IP is reported say 3 times by different people then it is automatically added to the list.

 

Not a bad idea, on the face of it. The only flaw in this plan is that it might encourage directory spammers to switch IPs and use proxys more often.

 

Can't you just use some antispam image in your URL submission form?

 

Doesnt work - its some how managing to bypass the submit page presumably - very weird!

Tbh the spam i get seems to be for 4 different ips at the moment so its pretty much under control. I havent got quite the same over my 2.x directory as i have over my 3.x directory - so spam is a bit more of a problem. Editing my htaccess just seems to cause my host problems lol

 

I am making a script regarding this and at present I am working on it to integrate with phpld

The integration with PHPLd is not easy as it involved smarty class let us see how

it comes in the end

Yes it will be for V2.1 as I do not have version 3 and also

but the database containing the spam websites and Ip addresses may be ditributed to all
